Almost twice the range at less than half the price and half the size. After years of use, my old unit still works fine. However, I liked the fact that the range of this item was so markedly increased. As an additional benefit, it comfortably fits in your pocket. I will admit that including a belt case would be better, but this laser is small and light enough that it isn’t really an issue. (Old dog, new tricks? Some habits are easy to change.) The various geometric functions make calculations accurate and effortless, which for me makes it a perfect addition.

I used it to put up wire shelves at home and it worked perfectly. I even use the manual lever to make sure laser level was level and it was perfect. Laser line was bright, but using inside the house. Like the selection of level type: horizontal, vertical or both. Makes the job much easier and precise. Happy I bought it. I believe I got my money’s worth with the first use.

This thing is amazing, it helped me simplify the process of measuring overhead long distances on a ladder. No more flopping/wrestling with the tape measure just to get an inaccurate reading. I do have a great tape measure though, Dewalt 35′ magnetic. Comparatively, the laser seems dead on with the measurements of that tape. I love the laser because a lot of times I travel to worksites alone and there is not always a second person with me to hold the traditional tape measure on a 16ft span.

It is great; the only thing that I wish it could do is to also show the distance in inches. Then I don’t have to use a calculator.
