The Bosch GLM 50 CX offers a backlit color display with large numbers to easily see measurements, letters and words to provide simplicity when using its array of features. In addition to screen enhancements, the GLM 50 CX offers Bluetooth functionality, so users can digitally transfer measurements to a smartphone or tablet. Extreme accuracy of 1/16 in.; unit has great range at 165 ft. The GLM 50 CX offers multiple modes; 3 indirect measurement modes including multi-surface area. A built-in inclinometer allows the user to determine the angle of pitch and confirm when the tool is level. Includes stakeout measurement that pinpoints recurring marks along a line, e.g. every 6 in.

This gadget is great. I bought it about a week ago. It seems to be quite accurate. I checked it against a tape the first time I used it. It shuts off pretty quickly so while I was entering my reading on my drawing, several times it would shut off and I would have to power it back on. It was not a big deal just a little annoying. Of course Bosch is trying to conserve battery life. I get it. When doing a bunch of measurements it becomes so automatic I would sometime forget to look at where the beam was hitting and come up with a strange reading. When I looked, the beam would be on something other than the wall I was aiming for. (a shower curtain !).. So bottom line look at the target, then look at the reading. I have not tried to use it outside, but inside it saved me a ton of time measuring.

Super helpful. It takes a few minutes to learn the various modes, but you’ll master it in no time. It also pairs via bluetooth with a phone/tablet, so if you’re using software to develop room plans, it will transfer measurements directly. Well designed, and worth every penny.

I am a home builder and this measure has greatly improved my efficiency. love it!! I have three now. First one had the smaller display, this one is very easy to read in any light. I have two of this model because I had to send in mine to repair the menu button that fell off. I can’t be without one. If Bosch reads this for my feedback I would like to have the option to toggle between 16 and 32 accuracy. Many times I am reducing to the 16th. I would also like to have the case more user friendly on the tool belt. It is too tight to get in and out with one hand. I have scratched up my display keeping it in my tool belt.
