The Bosch GLM 50 CX offers a backlit color display with large numbers to easily see measurements, letters and words to provide simplicity when using its array of features. In addition to screen enhancements, the GLM 50 CX offers Bluetooth functionality, so users can digitally transfer measurements to a smartphone or tablet. Extreme accuracy of 1/16 in., unit has great range at 165 ft. The GLM 50 CX offers multiple modes, 3 indirect measurement modes including multi-surface area. A built-in inclinometer allows the user to determine the angle of pitch and confirm when the tool is level. Includes stakeout measurement that pinpoints recurring marks along a line, e.g. every 6 in. Includes GLL50 Laser. The Bosch GLL 50 Self-Leveling Cross-Line Laser Kit features a laser with vertical, horizontal and cross-line modes that projects 2-lines independently or together. This permits a broad array of alignment and leveling applications. The laser lines are visible up to 50 ft., with an accuracy of plus/minus 1/8 in. at 33 ft. The included BM3 Positioning Device offers quick setup in ceiling grid applications and free-standing mode with its retractable feet. This laser is built with sturdy over-molded construction for durability.

The Bosch exceeded my expectations. Very easy to navigate functions. Very user friendly for a multifunction tool. Read accurately even off of black surfaces in my darkroom. Auto orientation of the display works better than expected. Wish it had a waterproof rating like IP67. Only had it for about a month and haven’t tried all functions yet. Cell phone app needs work or I just don’t understand the instructions. May update this review later.

Works very well indoors. Outdoors in full sunlight can be a challenge I now understand why tripods and large targets are used with lasers. It did everything expected it just gets hard in full sunlight to see if you are on target and measuring to the right point I would say anything over 15′ gets tough and being older that small dot gets awfully small.

I was always skeptical about using these digital readers until I saw a carpet installer use one to measure the area I was getting carpet in. Then I saw another when he measured my attic space for insulation. So, I decided to buy this one because of the reviews I read. Well, I am so glad I did! It took me long enough to buy one, but I love my Bosch Laser Measurer!!! I recommend this item to anyone who has to measure square areas accurately or any distances accurately. The thing measures distance well. I certainly benefited from using it. However, I was disappointed in one respect. The indirect-measure functions gave me lengths/distances that appeared to be about 2% in error. If 2% is within your acceptance range, then go for it. Bosch has not commented on my email asking for comment/explanation on the perceived error.
