I bought this laser measure a couple of months ago, as I had been looking at buying one for about a year now. We are looking at purchasing a new house, so it has really come in handy measuring/verifying room sizes. I cannot believe how accurate it turned out to be. And better yet is the distance that I am able to measure (I have even used it to measure property lot lines). I would definitely recommend this product.

All the newer laser measuring devices are inferior outside in sunlight. My 8 year old Bosch has a stronger laser, rather disappointed with the newer products. I’ve tried expensive Dewalt, Leica and Bosch and they all have weaker lasers than the older product. They are more compact, lighter weight & I’m sure they are very accurate but they fail outdoors when compared to an older tech product.

I use a laser measurer at work every day. When my old Bosch finally died after years of hard use, I was given another brand of measurer. After 2 inspections, I gave it back and asked for a Bosch. The laser dot is easy to see even outside. The operation of the measurer is simple (once you learn the icons). The battery practically lasts forever, and the product is made to last.

Placing foundation sticks is really easy. Have yet to read the manual as everything I need seems intuitive. I was able to position a fence easily. My neighbor’s house was my reference and held the GLM 80 against a vertical rebar. Used my GLM 80 in laying out a work shelf that would also hold my computer. Getting distances was a snap AND did not have to move furniture! I am sure it will make not only laying out posts for a pole barn but the installation as well.

It’s “OK” but should be improved I bought it for a specific new construction project and it worked OK, EXCEPT…. Using the angle function in some modes maxes out at 60 deg. It should have a back light on-off button, or the time-out be user adjustable. The time out is set too short and times out at the worst time (I was using it indoors/new construction at dusk and it would time out in the middle of each reading.) Icons are not clear. You know, like an electronics instruction manuals that was never proofread. 🙂 The sequencing of screens and commands are less than as user friendly or intuitive as they could have been designed to be. In all, it works as designed, is just “OK”, but not great, should be improved.

This item is very handy. It can measure inside cabinets, ceiling heights, wall heights from a distance, inclines, calculate areas and much more. The one big negative I have is the effort to change functionality. It is not as intuitive as I would like but the functionality is there none the less.

I have had this distance meter for a couple years now and it has served me well. The battery lasts a very long time even in cold weather. The only issue I have run into is the accuracy when pointing it at a shiny or metal object. The readings will be off a little when doing so.

Great product! Small, convenient unit. Use it for measuring both inside rooms and outside measurements for listing and verifying houses in Real Estate. Quick, easy and accurate measurements. Outside measurements taken even on a sunny day. Have not found a desired measurement that I could not get with this unit. Have had this unit for several months and still on the original charge.
