This is a Winner tool, I am a DIY guy and bought this for myself for Christmas. Is it accurate? YES. So far I have only used it for measurements, I have found it to be dead on accurate-as in measure once, cut to size, and assemble. It is that accurate (to the 32nd). I am a former machinist and enjoy the close tolerance that can be achieved using this tool. Using the angle to get a length is a little tricky, and might be better to use a tripod. I am waiting for a deal on the R60 level that can be used with the GLM-80. I like the rechargable battery that comes with the GLM-80. It was more expensive than the other basic GLMs but I am more than happy with the purchase. No more making inside measurements holding one side, bending the other side of the tape rule 90 degrees and guessing for me!While putting flooring in my attic I was putting 2X4s across the rafters so I could brace and nail my plywood to it. I was suprised that 22 1/2″ is not always 22 1/2″ either I was pounding the 2X4 in or it would fall through. Using the GLM-80 I could fit the 2X4 perfect every time. I am sold!

One of the greatest and most useful little gadgets I have used in a long time! No batteries to replace, just recharge the lithium-ion battery occasionally (with the included charger). Although I purchased this unit mainly for linear measurements, it will calculate area and volume. The laser beam is VERY bright and can be used outdoors easily. The instructions could have been laid out in a slightly different format to make them a little easier to follow, but they weren’t bad. You just have to flip from one page to another to find the name of a button and to find out what it does. It displays the current measurement as well as the three most recent measurements which came in very handy when I had to get the ends of a wide unit equidistant from a third point. Each time the unit was moved, both measurements changed. This laser measure made easy work of it. I quickly measured to one end then to toe other and compared measurements which were both displayed on the LCD screen. It also has a min-max feature which makes it easy to find the spot on a wall that is exactly at a 90 degree angle from the measuring device plus it also measures vertical angles. If you order the matching level housing, it converts into a digital level. This device is extremely accurate and I have been thoroughly impressed with it and would highly recommend it (especially for outdoor measurements).

This Bosch Laser Rangefinder is even more useful than I expected. Haven’t had a chance to use all of the functions yet, but I’m very impressed with the ease of use and the accuracy of measurements. One thing I would complain about is that it could come with a better user manual to explain how to use all of the different functions.

Because of the accuracy, especially in indoor measurements, I have been able to improve the quality of the finished product and in a short period of time. It also feels durable and has a solid battery life. I highly recommend this product!

I am absolutely impressed with this laser rangefinder. I was looking at a model of Bosh rangefinders below this one for quite a while but couldn’t quite bring myself to buy it. Even though this rangefinder was more expensive it was well worth the money. I’ve tried a sonic version in the past and it was terrible. This one is fantastic, and the fact it can calculate the hight of something using trigonometry was something that makes sense to me but I just did not expect in a device like this one. The only thing I need now is the matching R60 level it goes in, and maybe some kind of tripod to hold it. For my needs though, measuring rooms and lenghts to cut a board to, it’s fantastic!

Excellent brightness for measuring in bright light or dark. Multiple steps required to do extended measurements and confusing directions for triangulation measurements.

I bought several of these for my appraisers to be used mostly for outside measuring of homes and commercial buildings. These work great even in bright day light compared to other brands we have used. I did a lot of research before buying this one, because of having to buy so many I had to make sure it would work the way we needed to use it especially outside. My appraiser like this tool also because it is easy to use.

I’ve only had the GLM 80 for a couple of weeks. I’ve been familiarizing myself with the operation of the unit. And though I think it will become much easier to use, the more I use it, I believe that instructions and reference card that come with the unit leave a person confused. They could have been written better. That’s the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5.I’ve taken measurements around the house, and a few outside the house-and because I was in the shade, I didn’t have any issue with getting a reading. I’m curious to see how it goes when I get the chance to take some longer measurements outside.I’ve performed the multi measurement accuracy check of the unit (page 29 of the manual), and it was consistent within 0.003 feet, (very good in my opinion). I’m looking forward to using this tool to layout and build a new woodworking hobby shop.

Easy to use. The level function is a nice feature to ensure you are shooting an accurate distance. Switch modes to take the distance from the front edge or back edge of the unit and it also calculates square footage.

This is a good laser measurer specially more so for metric measurement. The only inconvenient part on the measurement for English System conversion is the use of decimals instead of fraction after a whole number when measuring length to a fraction. There is no decimal to fraction conversion, so I have to manually convert decimals to fraction or use a calculator for up 4 digit decimals. This take more time than using a tape measure. Because most US Standard Engineering and Architecture plans for the construction industry uses English System for dimensional measurement, the laser measurer is limited to metric measurement for most of the applications. The area, volume, angle, and slope measurement are an excellent features for both metric and English measurement.

I love Bosch products and have always been happy with their usefulness and quality of build! This laser rangefinder is no exception! I have another one which I cannot find right now! This was a GREAT deal at Home Depot’s daily deal price for sure. could not pass it up. I need to learn to use more of its functions to capitalize on the abilities of this great tool! Sometimes having an object to reflect off of for distance measuring can be a problem. I have used it mostly for reflecting off building walls, etc. giving me an easy to hit surface for reflection.
