Being involved in architectural design, my reason for purchasing this GLM 80 (and R60 level attachment as a combo kit) was to make site and house measuring quicker and more accurate. This is my first laser measurer and so can only compare it against the manual measuring tape technique I have been using for over 25 years.Since purchasing it 6 weeks ago I have used both the laser distance measurer and digital level attachment to do measurements on the interior and exteriors of three separate houses that I needed to do renovation designs for.The measurer has a bunch of different function options that seem technically intimidating at first, but I found everything very comprehensively displayed, systematic and user friendly right from the start. The instructions are good with easy to follow pictures and I found the learning curve to use the measurer to its full capacity is quite short and spot-on accurate over both short and long distances. I would however highly recommend using a decent tripod for measuring lengths greater than 50 feet or for the indirect height/combined indirect height measurements, because shaky hands, winds or awkward terrain can skew your results if relying just upon the stability of your own hands for accurate measurements.The digital level attachment is an incredible tool to use as an inclinometer (measuring roof slope ratios, driveway or stair/railing slopes) and the measurer fits safely and snugly into the level without any problems. At 24″ long the level is an adequate length for my purposes, but I can see how a 36″ or 48″ length option would be beneficial for some people.All in all I have been very pleased with this combo kit and look forward to many years of use from it.Although some may consider it a bit pricey to purchase, I have found the combo kit to save me a heap of time and money, particularly because I do not need an additional person to be on site with me to “hold the other end of the sagging tape measure”. In my opinion, the purchase price of the combo kit paid for itself just from the efficiency it created at the first job.I’d highly recommend it.

I measure offices for cable installation almost daily. The GLM 80 has been a great addition to my tools, it is faster and more accurate than a wheel or tape measure. The only down side is that it is not easy to see the laser on dark surfaces more than 100 feet away. The battery is great, I charge from my computer about once a month while I am at my desk.

I have owned this GLM-80 for several years now . This is a tool that i do not use every day , but , invaluable when i need it. For example : , I mostly work by myself . When I install crown molding It is very difficult to take measurements with a sloppy measuring tape. The GLM-80 is accurate to the 1/16th of an inch . It is reliable ,easy to use and extremely accurate.

I spend a lot of time taking exterior dimensions on buildings including roofs. This laser shows up on sunny days pretty well at fairly long distances and excellent on overcast days. Taking my dimensions in a logical order and having them saved to the laser is a great time saver as well. My time spent outside has reduced drastically.

Real estate appraiser. Use it to measure single family residences inside and out. Accurate and easy to uses. Display can be seen in strong daylight. On the other hand when outside in strong daylight the laser is very difficult to see at over 40′. The charge socket cover keeps peeling back when in use and makes it difficult to place back into the belt pouch.
