Bought to find studs through tile in bathroom. Did not work for that application. Will return it.

With the Bosch GMS120 digital wall scanner I was able to locate ‘buried’ Romex in our rastra block walls as well as the wooden blocking embedded for cabinet installs. Followed the instructions and had no problems using this tool.

The features are great…takes the guesswork out of locating the studs, etc.

I bought this about a month ago, and works well most of the time, though it randomly “detects” live wires in places where it’s impossible there is one. When trying again it does not detect any or detects it somewhere else.

Decided to go with a better stud finder and was not disappointed. Finds studs easily and I like the centering function.

I have had this stud finder for a while now. It works better than any others that I have used.

I moved into a condo that has concrete construction and metal framing instead of wood. This unit made it so easy to find the metal studs and avoid rebar in concrete. Installing my TV wall mount was a breeze.

I bought this scanner about 2 months ago to help with assisting in finding live wires and copper pipes in the walls where I work. I’m a maintenancce technician and I do a lot of sheetrock repair and replacement. in the past I had to use a cheap little stanley wall scnanner that couldn’t find a wall stud to save its life. I stumbled upon the bosch gms120 by accident online and read what it could do and decided to spend the extra money to try it out. I bought it online and when it arrived I put it to use asap. The stud finder is dead on accurate and the ability to find the center of the stud helps tremendously when cutting drywall and installing screws into the wall. The metal detection features are also very acurate in finding copper pipe and or rebar and the fact that it can distinguish between ferrous and non ferrous metals helps out a lot. The only issue I have with the scanner is the live wire detection. There has to be 120v+ power flowing through the wire to detect it and sometimes the scanner doesn’t find the live wires. I’ve had the scanner right over live wires with 120v running through them and the scanner picked up a weak signal. Other than that this scanner works way better than I could ever imagine or expect. I highly recommened this scanner to any homeowner or professional out there. The cost is a little bit much but well worth is if you use it often.

Used the same day I received, easy to use and it worked great. Found the studs quickly, no wires or pipes in the area I was mounting a grab bar in the bathroom. I own a number of BOSCH products, I’ve never been disappointed.

not useful on plaster lathe walls, which was the primary purpose to buy, it found other things behind the except a stud…..tapping with my knuckle worked better…..it looks nice in the Bosch tool bag with the others……
