The Bosch GRL800-20HVK Self-Leveling Rotary Laser Kit delivers an all-in-1 package for outdoor and indoor leveling. It features a horizontal/vertical self-leveling laser, suitable for leveling, aligning and squaring applications. Easy to use, the laser delivers 3/16 in. accuracy at 100 ft., and working range of up to 800 ft.

The laser works great. I give it 5 stars and seems to be very accurate. I gave it 4 stars because I’m having trouble getting the receiver to work at all times. I’ve even put new battery in it and still having problems at times.

The corners of laser block the reading, you have to position it just right, very sensitive, probably within a 64/th. So hard to get a reading, may have sensitivity adjustment but haven’t read up on it yet

Fantastic Bosch Quality Shines Again. What a handy and well made Laser level. The main laser is powered by 2 D cell regular batteries that are contained in a compact, easy to remove & re-install carrier AND batteries are included. The heavy duty tri-pod is solid and the legs extend with a simple flip of a nice wide lever and work smooth as silk. They also have heavy foot treads to help settle legs solidly into the ground. Works well even for vertical wall leveling so all 4 corners are in perfect alignment. The Laser receiver and the ceiling measuring plats have good powerful magnets to hold in place. Make sure you use the included protective glasses. It is just not worth the risk of eye damage. To negative items on this kit;1) There is no remote included.2) For me a real bummer is the tripod and leveling rod do not attach to the carrying case. I used 36″ bungee cords to keep them attached to the carrying case. Then I can use my other hand to carry whatever else I need. AND I will not loose or leave either one behind.One Hint: if you do not keep batteries installed then for safety put blue painters tape over one end, especially on the 9V. I often find loose nails everywhere and tape will prevent starting a fire and losing valuable tools.

I’ve only used the rotary laser a few times but it seems to work fine. I really want to compare it’s accuracy with a water level sometime just for my own curiosity. One thing that I have noticed is it is very sensitive when trying to find dead center on the receiver. It would be nice see on a digital display the up/down distance as it gets closer to center. There is audible indication whether you need to go up it down (two distinct sounds) but they don’t speed up as it gets close to center.The instrument is very easy to set up the story pole is light and easy to extend and retract and the tripod seems to be well enough to support the laser. Comes with a plastic case for the laser, which is nice, but the tripod and story poll still have to be protected separately.

This did not do what I needed but it is good for leveling. However the price is a little high for the performance. I needed something more specific to laying lines where I needed a gauge measured in degrees to make right angle lines. I could not find a way to do this though you can get a single line. I’m going to return it and go back to the old style transit for my purposes. If you need an eight hundred foot leveling laser this would be good for that purpose.

Fairly easy to use. The measurement rod at every section has a vinyl holder which stick out so if the receiver were to set at this junction it can’t screw it tight. I use leveling to level the top base first just to help somewhat level even there is an automatic leveling at the equipment.All in all its excellent product.
