The Bosch GRL800-20HVK Self-Leveling Rotary Laser Kit delivers an all-in-1 package for outdoor and indoor leveling. It features a horizontal/vertical self-leveling laser, suitable for leveling, aligning and squaring applications. Easy to use, the laser delivers 3/16 in. accuracy at 100 ft., and working range of up to 800 ft.

Compared to the old manual style transom/optical levels this can’t be beat and is worth every penny. Its saved hours, levels perfectly. The only the watch out for is there are some small “blind spots” where the cover supports block the laser but moving a couple inches left/right seem to handle that.

The unit works but does not zero in well for tone. I point to the small receiver area and large width laser. This should be a longer laser detect as the Berger uses. I have an used newer Berger receiver I am going to try with this see if it works any better. It gets you to within a 1/4 but never finds tone. I did expect a little more for 500 clams. Would I recommend that is up to you on how fine a result you are looking for it works but I like to hear tone on zero not up down beeping

Works as advertised. Usability by one person saves project costs. The GRL800-20HVK self-leveling rotary laser is precise and effective. Its case is sealed against dust and water for outdoor use. The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is 54. First digit (5) indicates dust resistant but not dust proof. Second digit (4) indicates spray resistant but not waterproof. Carrying case provides added protection. The tripod and 8 foot measuring rod are solidly designed. The LR30 laser receiver is somewhat inconvenient to adjust. The LEDs blink faster and the audio signal beeps more frequently as the correct level is approached. When the correct level is reached, the blue center LED lights up and the beeps are replaced by a continuous tone. Other laser receivers have displays that provide more intuitive guidance and better ease of adjustment. The plastic case on the LR30 is susceptible to breakage, not the best design for an outdoor measuring tool. Better receivers are available for separate purchase elsewhere. Receiver is not ideal, but it does the job. Bosch limited warranty provides refund up to 30 days, replacement up to 3 years. I only recommend this for indoor use or use outdoors in evenings or early hours. Once the sun is out its worthless. Had to return it the next day as it made shooting grades outdoors almost impossible. You can use the little receiver box but for all the trouble its easier to get a Transit and use two people. If you use it indoors its great, just real pricey!

This package has everything you need to level up anything.I have to build a floor for a shed on uneven ground. I have been gathering the components to do this while the weather has been rain and snow. Now that the the weather is becoming more sun than rain, I can take this laser level kit out and start setting the piers. (I have been practicing how to use it here in the house.) I have always used a transit, but the tripod has gotten lost and the transit needs a base to be able to use it.
