- Select 0 and 90° lines plus optional 45° layout line – at the press of a button; this provides 0, 45, 90 and 135° layouts from a single set up
- Magnet attachment – strong magnets on bottom of tool provide secure attachment on positioning plate and other ferrous-metal surfaces

I’ve been a tile mechanic for 18 yrs, well an installer for 18, a mechanic for about 10… still learning everyday. I purchased this tool to see how helpful it may be. Of course, in don’t need this device and I merely bought it out of want, not need…at least that was the thought. Ever since I started to use it, I am kicking myself for not getting this year’s ago. This truly does help when squaring my lines when doing a grid layout. Of course, I’m one that has never used or needed to use spacers. But having this device has really b shown me how more effective it is to have the help and really save time. Its truly worth everyour cent.

I’ve used this to lay out 4 tile jobs. Really makes setting the center line and getting perfect vertical lines a snap. It does get hard to see line once you are about 10 feet from tool, but if you can darken the room it will work to over 20 feet.

The owner’s manual appears to say that the allowable deviation is 1/2″ over 32′ even though the words say it should only be 1/4″. I say that because when it says to check the 90* at the 16′ point 1/4″ of deviation is allowable. It seems to me this should be only 1/8″ given it’s only 16′. Still waiting for the staff to get back to me on this.

Among other uses, I like that this laser saves time when framing renovations. The laser is bright and the target plate very useful. The magnet base and mounting plate allow for some creative placements. This laser combined with the GPL2 vertical plumb laser compliment each other when framing, and together save time and deliver an affordable and superior result from conventional methods. On smaller jobs, it has replaced the need for a second helper, saving on labour costs. Overall, a strong value investment.
