The Bosch GWS13-50VS 5 in. Angle Grinder delivers more power than previous-generation models with the same size tool – 13 Amp and up to 11,500 RPM. The lower variable-speed setting – 2,800 rpm – allows the operator to match speed to application. For operator comfort and control, it sports a 2-position Vibration Control side handle, making it less demanding to run.
- Carbon brushes – more durable than previous-generation brushes
- Direct-motor cooling for higher overload capabilities
- Constant electronics – level operation and reliable speed under load
- 2-position vibration control side handle for more user comfort
- Integrated acceleration sensor mitigates inadvertent recoil
- Directed air flow diverts dust from vital components
- Restart protection to guard against unintended startup
- Tool-less, burst-protection adjustable guard for advanced user protection
- Service minder brushes – ensure preventative maintenance
- Large spindle lock for more convenient disc change

So far, so good.Variable switch is a bit awkward to rotate. Hopefully switches will loosen up with more use.

I don’t like the on off switch. I think I would like the paddle switch better. 13 Amps is more power than I need and I find the variable speed is great for flap wheels less heat on the work piece.Nice tool

I used this variable speed angle grinder with a 4 1/2″ knotted wire wheel attachment to strip old peeling paint from the wood fascia boards on my house. in areas where the paint was most weathered, slowing down the rpm’s to 2800 worked great, and where the paint was not so severely weathered (but still old) 11,500 rpm’s worked the best. ergonomically speaking, the grinder fits well in my hands, and after a 8 hour day of stripping paint, my hands and wrists are not fatigued at all. I also used this grinder with a scotch brite pad attachment to strip the sun-burnt paint off the steel hood of my car. setting the rpm’s at around 3,000 worked absolutely perfect with no heat warpage to the steel hood. this is the only grinder I need being a do it yourselfer home hobbyist. highly recommend this grinder
