Bought this to use in my bathroom re-model. Used it to cut a cast iron bath-tub into 3 pieces. The tub was basically 3/8″ thick cast iron all around…probably 400lbs. Some folks just sledge hammer the tubs into pieces but I used this grinder to cut it into 3 pieces. Didn’t want to risk plaster damage to adjacent walls by whaling on the tub with the sledge. While the directions say this can be used for “limited” metal cutting, I did A LOT of metal cutting with it on the cast iron tub. This grinder was up to the task and performed very well in cutting the 3/8″ cast iron. Very impressive….did not struggle at all. While I am not a metal worker, I am a pretty good DIY’r and own some good power tools. This tool is made well…beefy but not heavy, well balanced, quality trigger and cord. I was very pleased with it’s performance.

This is a nice tool that does so much you can cut or grind and remember to always wear eye, dust, and ear protection at all time. The attachments can be adjusted for safe operation and to make the task easier. Another safety tool is the dust collection guard for when using the diamond cup wheels on concrete surface. There is one attachment included and others available for purchase. Please be sure to wear all safety equipment.

I have not used it much yet but I really like it.It has twice the power that my 30yr old 4-1/2″ Bosch which is still going strong, and is not that much bigger.I like the safety on the paddle switch.

This is a fantastic little grinder. I’ve primarily used it to sharpen the blades on my lawn mower, It is so easy to just remove the blade set it in my clamp and use this grinder to bring the blade back to sharp. I haven’t had a chance to use the dust guard yet, but it does seem a little clunky and I’m not sure even how to attach it. The switch to turn the grinder on can be tiring to hold constantly. Luckily there is a way to lock it on with a little conveniently placed switch. It doesn’t engage in a very natural way, but it’s doable and with a little practice I don’t think it’ll be an issue. Overall, I’m very happy with this grinder and I definitely recommend it.

Well, you know you can trust the Bosch name for quality tools that work as hard as you do, and this won’t let you down! I love how most new side grinders are incorporating a paddle switch instead of the old flip-style switches. It is so much easier when wearing gloves, and it seems so much more safe. With this tool, safe is its middle name. It includes a dust collection system that worked well with my smaller Shop Vac. It cleared most, if not all of the ground dust and metal away from the air and my lungs. As shops are moving towards the higher OSHA requirements, this will help you comply with those new regs.

This 5″ angle grinder is a definite winner! In my experience with angle grinders, which is more than I’d like to admit from high school and summer jobs, aka the tuff old 7″ grinders that weighed a TON. This 5″ is a breeze to use, more powerful, lighter plus speed control.I also changed it over to use as a metal cutter with the dust guard attachment. The dust guard sets up like a “skill saw” with depth adjustment and that is a sweet idea and cuts great. My only problem is the dust guard aims hot sparks right up my nose. I suppose that wouldn’t happen if I was using a vacuum as it was intended. So that one is on me.When I got my old 4″ grinder I was in heaven but this one is even better by two plus! That’s because of the dust guard attachment gives it a double function.

Very strong, well-designed, well-made angle grinder. Just completed removing several years of heavy rust from a steel angle-iron crib frame. Variable speed allowed me to adjust as desired. Side-mountable screw-in handle provided excellent control at all times. This unit is more than powerful enough and clearly very durable to satisfy my long-term needs. Beyond any doubt, this is a quality tool.
