Excellent addition for an excellent drill. The chuck is easy to use, well made, and rugged. Just pop it in the SDS-Plus jaw of the drill and you’re ready to go. Just make sure you select “drill only” on your hammer drill when you use this chuck. Bosch has quality that shows. I haven’t experienced any loosening of bits in the 1/2 in. jaw that others have mentioned, but I have a habit of tightening a key-less chuck every so often when I work with this type of tool. I have no complaints. The 1/2 in. chuck is worth the money.

I am able to use my rotary hammer for more things than just concrete drilling. I am able to use the torque of my Bosch Bulldog to run big hole saws and spade bits. You can NOT use the hammer function while using this attachment. That is the only downside. I bought this attachment for that reason at the time. It wasn’t until I got it home did I read the directions and realized that. I needed to use a 1/8th inch masonry drill bit and I can’t find a SDS one. The smallest they go is 5/32. I had to buy a smaller hammer drill with a normal chuck to complete my project. I would think the chucks in the hammer drills and this attachment should be about the same but I guess not.

This adapter locks into the Bosch SDS chuck and enables you to use your non-SDS bits and accessories. I was using my Bosch Bulldog hammer drill in the drill mode with a 3-inch hole saw to cut 16 3-inch holes through two thicknesses of 2X lumber to install vents. After cutting 12 of the 16 3-inch holes, this adapter quit working, The 3-inch hole saw was installed, the adapter would not loosen or tighten for me to change bits. In fact, the hole saw arbor is still locked into the adapter . . . don’t know how to get it out.May have been that I put too much torque or something on it — it was a tough job.Except for that incident, I am, 100% pleased. Am ordering another one plus a spare.Meanwhile, I know the Bosch Bulldog uses the SDS system. I wish Bosch or someone made the following with SDS shanks:– Wood boring bits up to 1-inch diameter– Hole saw arbor– Regular high speed drill bits

I read unfavorable reviews on this product but wanted to see for myself. I could not find any other solutions to convert my sds chuck to a keyless chuck that would except my 1″ x 14″ drill bit. I have had zero failures and given that I am drilling a tree stump 12″ deep with over 50 1″ holes I am happy with the product and would recomend it. I have really tested its limits and it performed to my expectations.
