Worked perfectly to cut a drain hole in porcelain tile in my laundry room. I haven’t done much tiling and have never tried to cut a hole like this and was a bit apprehensive. I used this in conjunction with the Bosch HDGQA 3/8 in Autostart Carbide Hole Saw Quick Change Mandrel to allow the drill bit to connect to my standard drill and to align the 3 1/4 in saw perfectly on the center of the hole. First I marked the hole and the center. Then I used a small tile bit to make an impression in the center of the hole (to line up the saw later). Per another reviewer’s recommendation, I built a dam around the outside of the 3 1/4 in hole with plumbers putty and added ice chips and water to keep the saw cool. Then I lined up the mandrel in the prestarted hole (since it was getting hard to see the lines with the water) and drilled. It was the easiest part of the job.
