This diamond tipped hole saw cut through wood and two types of tile as if they were butter. It is also rated for stone but I didn’t attempt that. The tile guys were finished with my unusual project in about 10 minutes using this saw. They sprayed water onto the drill bit cutting edge while it was in use to help cool and lubricate it. Not sure that was actually necessary but it caused no problems either. This Saw must be used with a custom, quick release mandrel that is sold separately. The tile guy said when he assembled the two parts “It’s about time they made a quick release mandrel !”.

This saw cut through a 1 inch thick glass filled epoxy top not quite like butter but close. This material has eaten HSS and carbide cutters alive in previous cuts. Retracting centering bit worked great but was not obvious how to remove it for a deeper cut. Duh just pull it out.

Works great! was drilling thru brick veneer for a dryer vent. Bit had no problem. better on a battery operated drill that hasnt as much power as a 1/2 in. elec. drill. You can injure your arm or wrist with a more powerful drill. Just wonder how many holes it will cut?

I bought this to use for occasionally cutting large holes in tiles. I used it only once so far but it seemed to work well. My main issue is that this is not ready to use out of the box. You need to buy an adapter separately to use this with a drill. The main problem with that is stores do not carry it. It has to be special ordered thru home depot or a few other sites that carry it. I think that added another $20 or so to the cost.

The Bosch DG hole saw did everything I had wanted it to do, But an employee used it to cut through a 6 inch douglas fir beam. This caused the saw to warp. It is a good tool when used on the correct materials.Dennis Akin

This hole saw worked fantastic cutting through slate. I expect it would work as well with concrete or tile.
