Purchased this because of it’s carbide tipped bits and promise of longer life. It has been used to cut many holes and is remaining sharp and still cutting well. Kudos to Home Depot for stocking it.

Bosch Dare Devils are the only hole saw I buy unless I’m cutting into some fine wood. For anything from Hardie, wood, roof tabs, soft/semi hard brick, it’s all I you. I broke one of the 4 carbide cutters off a couple of year hitting a nail, hardly missed a beat.

This hole saw works as expected. Best part is the price. We needed it to drill a hole for the dryer exhaust vent through the exterior brick of our home. The local rental supply store wanted to rent it for $50+. This is a deal.

Good for cinder block 4 inch dryer vent hole. Some people negatively reviewed this hole saw with concerns of breaking teeth. I had no issues. As long as you follow speed recommendations and avoid bounce it works as it should. You do have to avoid all metal (ex: rebar) as it will damage the blades.

I used this hole saw to drill a hole for a 4″ bathroom vent pipe through red brick with a 2 x 10 on either side of the brick. The hole saw is heavy duty and well made. It made short work of the wood, but cutting through the brick was time consuming. I ended up using a hammer drill to make smaller holes around the perimeter of the circle and that helped. I also used it to clean up an existing dryer vent hole through a concrete foundation. That hole was not round and very rough, and a little under-sized in places. It handled that job easily and quickly. After those jobs, the edge is still sharp and ready for the next time I need it. I tried it with a cordless drill, and it worked, but I quickly switched to a much larger corded drill with better hand holds. When the thing snags, and it inevitably will, you need a good grip or the drill will spin around and get you. If you need to run a 4″ vent through tough material, I would recommend this hole saw.

Daredevil line is the best. I am electrician and using them daily different size. This hole saws cuts almost everything.Plaster with word lats, plaster with mesh and many more. With one hole saw i made 100s of hole and still it is sharp.

I bought this to install 30+ NSL-brand 4″ LED surface-mount fixtures.Worked really well to speed up the process of cutting holes for the fixture heads in the drywall ceiling. As this is an aggressive cutting tool, it does tend to grab the material. At first I didn’t have the pilot bit extended a full 1/2″, so the hole saw jumped and gouged the adjacent drywall material. I extended the pilot bit to a bit over 1/2″, and the hole saw was much more stable. It throws the dust resulting from cutting drywall. Not as much as a roto tool, and not nearly as much blowing of drywall dust as a roto tool would do. I used a piece of poster board to limit the amount, but I still got some thrown in my face.Cut as well after 30+ cuts as the first. When I had 1X3 spruce strapping above the drywall, it went right through that too.
