I like the sander and use it daily, good power and easy to hold in hand since I am age 79 now!!!!!!!!

Purchased this sander for refinishing and varnishing two wooden kayaks. Completely met my expectations. Used with a vacuum there was practically no dust (a major problem for me since I was sanding epoxy, which is toxic).Grip was very comfortable, and variable speed was useful for more delicate work (e.g. 320 grit).Excellent value for the money.

This is a decent, reasonably priced random orbital sander. At higher “speeds” it is less easy to control – you really need both hands to control it. It sands well and quickly. It has a vacuum attachment for smaller hoses that works well – so you can hook up the sander to the shop vacuum if you so desire. The dust collection cartridge works well. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was because it is less easy to control at higher speeds.

Over the years I have had lots of sanders of all types. I prefer random orbital for most of my sanding. I currently have 3 ROS. A Porter-Cable low profile, A Bosch 2 hand and this new Bosch. The PC has seen a lot of hours and is nicely balanced especially for vertical surfaces, but alas it is showing its age and is no longer manufactured. The Bosch 2 hand is the worst sander I ever had. No matter what I tried it will not keep the pad on because the single center shaft bolt keeps coming loose. I just need to pitch it in the trash. The new Bosch is an improvement. The pad is held on by 3 screws It is quieter then the other two and has far superior dust collection. The dust bag is difficult to get apart to empty. The center of gravity is higher and it is not as aggressive a sander as the other two. Variable speed control is good. The pad is the flattest of all 3. I have hooked a canister vac up to it and there is hardly any dust. Is it Festool quality – no, but then the whole setup only cost $100. From a practical standpoint I prefer the PC low profile for heavy cutting and the new Bosch for finish sanding. Why 4 stars – not enough hours on it to see if it holds up especially the speed control brake and the hook and loop pad. My Bosch multitool H&L pads do not last long

Can’t beat the price for the quality you get with Bosch. Has made quick work of the small to mid effort woodworking projects.

bought this because of specs and price. has been a good sander, and the filter works very well, except the filter has become loose and vibrates off. plus……. when the paper filter gets full/dirty and needs replacing, you have to replace the entire unit, not just the paper part. not sure how expensive it is since i have just been banging the dust out of it. now that the filter falls off so easily i am looking to replace with a new sander, with just a bag.

Blade is tight,. Does not move like some others I used.

The sander is light weight, easy to use, and seems to be well constructed. The dust collection system is well designed and works very well. I bought this unit to replace my similar sized Milwaukee sander that has issues with the dust collection system. Unfortunately that system has been discontinued, so it can’t be replaced. On the positive side, the new Bosch sander does a much better job of collecting dust. It is also quieter, if that is a consideration. On the negative side, it is considerably less powerful and takes longer than the Milwaukee to sand a similar sized area. As a result, I would not recommend this sander if you need something to take down a lot of material. On the other hand, it does a great job of final light sanding.

I was originally going to purchase another ROS, but after reading all the reviews about this model, had a change of heart. I purchased this to augment the B&D 1/4 Sheet sander I use to refinish furniture. The first item I tackled was a 4’x4′ tabletop that I wanted back down to the original wood. In an amazingly short period of time, compared to my other sander, I was there, wow! I love the adjustable speed and used it when gently taking the finish off some veneer. As far as the dust collection filter goes, it’s pretty much a no brainer, twist on/off and easier to deal with than some others have said. I also tried it out with my little portable Oreck vac and there was absolutely no dust anywhere, nice. I was a bit concerned when I saw the cost of paper for these, but where my other sander would have gone through multiple sheets of sandpaper on this project, I am still on my first 5″ disk with this unit and there’s hardly any sign of wear even after tackling the rest of the parts. Really glad I opted NOT to get that 20 pack of sanding disks after all.

Hard to give an accurate evaluation as I really have used it very little. Delivery was fast. Sander arrived in good condition. It did what a sander is supposed to do when I first turned it on to make sure it ran. Wish I had a project to give it a real workout,,, but am between projects at this time.

Does the job

Solid tool, I do have to slow down on my cuts because the blade has enough play in it that it creates a bevel. Aside from having to sand the bevels down this saw does a great job

I’ve only used it so far for light duty projects involving smaller pieces of wood which it runs through with ease. I can’t give an account of how it handles harder materials. The carrying case is a nice extra.

I was researching ROsanders & decided on this one. It is everything I expected. Works well.. has a good attached dust container as well as a vacuum attachment… light weight .. hard carry case

I love this tool! It is well built and well designed. Feels very comfortable in the hands while using. Does not require much pressure at all (in fact, too much pressure actually makes it work less effectively). The dust collection is superb… I don’t have to wear a mask. True, the dust box needs frequent cleaning, but it comes off with a simple grip and twist. The motor is powerful yet quiet. I sanded a small tool rack which I built with a 220 grit disk and the finish was superb. I own other Bosch tools and I’m sure I will continue to stick with this quality line. You pay somewhat more, but the quality is well worth it!
