Nice strong running saw with a good heft to it. Variable speed in the sense that there is a switch to select the speed rather than speed depending on trigger pull. At first, I thought I wouldn’t like that style of speed control, but turns out I prefer it.The only thing I would change is the bevel control which is a little clunky to use..

It is easy to use, has all the power you need, does not bounce around, all of this makes it easy to cut a straight line. Only small drawback is that you can not use the standard blades, must upgrade to the T style blades, extremely easy to change the blade during use, rotate the collar and the blade will fall out, no burnt fingers.

Bought new jig saw to be used with Collins coping foot attachment. Had to modify finger guard to fit under coping foot. Hard to bend finger guard.Other than the modification seems to work fine.

I am sure this works well for a right-handed person but not a lefty. The position of the on/off switch was not suitable for a left handed person.
