I bought this saw to use for cutting fancy pergola ends, coping and other contour work. I bought the longer blades for the pergola ends so could cut the profile in two boards at time. The boards are 3 inch thick by 12 deep. This saw had no issues cutting through a solid 6 inch rough cut douglas fir. The profiles in both boards were dead square ( which means the blade didn’t wander or deform). For the thick stock I gound turning down the rpm to about half which allowed better control. Also no issue for coping mouldings. Very easy to control and very manouverable. One suggestion would be to add ab led light to illuminate the blade/line contact. Laser would not help since I am not looking further ahead than the blade contact anyway. Thanks Bosch!

I was never happy with previous jig saws. I needed to replace the last worn out saw. ended up buying this. the grip is larger than anticipated and reaching the switch is awkward. But My hands are considered a mans small/medium so most men will not have issues. I like the very easy blade retention and release mechanism, swing lever to side, insert blade, move lever other direction. to release, move lever to side and the blade flies out, so keep an eye out where it lands. :). The saw is corded (I prefer) and has plenty of power to spare. it is easy to maneuver around the cutting path and comes with a clear guard to direct shavings away from work path. Bosch has very good reputation and this saw plays well.

I was worried it would be to big and heavy but it cuts great with no vibration. I must admit that it is larger (I do have small hands) than most other skill saws I have used. But once I started cutting scrolls in 2×8’s I could tell it was obviously a top quality tool. Easy to control and change the blades. On/off switch took some getting used to but setting the speed first and then turning on allows much better controlled cutting outcomes!

Had the JS470EB for a few years now. Don’t use it a lot, but I do love it. Feels very well built. The moderate heft along with the large range of variable speeds and the right bits allows for very good control. Zero-clearance, plastic, clear insert is very nice to have for certain projects. It’s worth the price. I wouldn’t buy anything different the next time around, except for a newer model.

I used this saw to cut decorative profiles in wet 2×6 treated wood for a pergola. It cut easily with very little blade deflection. It was fun to use. I wish it had a light to help see the cut. Overall i would say buy this saw, you will not regret it. This saw is amazing.

I need to cut a section of 2×4 to a particular shape, and this beast cut through like butter. Supper smooth operation, no vibration and quick. I would recommend this above other brands.

I bought this 3 months ago to do the sink and gas cooktop cutouts for a countertop. Everything worked the way it should. No miss cuts and very controllable.
