The Bosch JS572EBK Barrel-Grip Jig Saw Kit provides a tool with an upgraded upfront soft-grip area; it has the smallest circumference in its class. Thanks to the innovative Precision Control II double-roller system, it has outstanding cut accuracy, which minimizes blade deflection. Woodworkers and kitchen and bath installers are among the many user groups will appreciate the best-in-class 7.2-amp motor and variable-speed control. Built with an aluminum gearbox with an insulated cover, this jig saw comes with a counterbalancing mechanism for low vibration and Constant Response circuitry for consistent speed under load. It has a large die-cast aluminum footplate with tool-free adjustment for fast and easy bevel adjustments. It also has LED lighting and a dust blower for max cut-line visibility and a toolless blade-change system. The multidirectional blade clamp provides superior grip of T-shank blades. (Bosch jig saws do not accept U-shank blades.)

LOVE this jigsaw!!! First time I’ve purchased a barrel grip and it’s absolutely awesome for use with base moulding, crown moulding, casing, etc. Very easy to maneuver and cuts with ease. This has plenty of power!

I’m happy with the saw, mostly. The saw offers loads and loads of power. Deflection is tremendously better than on my old Porter-Cable saw. The base angle adjustment is clever and well-executed. The blade ejection is extremely well-designed. The cord length is ample. Overall, the saw feels very solid and ergonomics are excellent.There are some quirks. The LED lights are not trigger-activated, and just stay on. They aren’t awfully bright, either. The lock-on-only trigger takes some getting used to. This is unique amongst the hand-operated power saws I own. Though convenient, it feels a little sketchy. Some kind of grip safety to confirm the user still has control of the tool might be a thoughtful addition. Though I’m happy with the saw overall, I feel this is poor value. Festool will sell you a German-made saw of comparable or perhaps better quality in a great box with the dust collection accessories included. Bosch is offering this saw in a chintzy and way-oversized box, with one anti-splinter device and a couple blades thrown in. They sell the dust collector as an add-on at a ridiculous price. This saw carries one-third of the warranty of the Festool. When Festool of all brands is whipping you on value, you know you’re probably off the rails. Some sites claim this is made in Switzerland. Mine is made in Hungary.

Don’t waste your time with any other jigsaws on the market. I’ve used all the major brands in decades past, and hated them. I thought the problem was with jigsaws in general–I was wrong. This thing cuts beautifully, no jumping, no rattling, very little tearout, and that’s using a “Speed” blade!

This jig saw is a first class tool. I like the blade holding system, very innovative. The case is nice and it holds extra blades as well as protecting an expensive tool. This was my first push type jig saw and for me that is thde way to go. On top handle saws i have a tendency to increase pressue at the front of the handle and that creates a quasi pull effect. If you want a quality buy this one.

I bought this saw knowing it had excellent reviews and was very anxious to use it. I really wanted a barrel type jigsaw and had a top panel jigsaw prior to this, an older model. However real quickly I discovered that this tool definitely had a right hander advantage and would be very difficult to use as a left handed. When you grab the barrel naturally your thumb will be on the right side of the saw if you are left-handed and clearly out of reach of the on off switch which is located on the left side of the saw and not easily operable with your index or middle finger. So reluctantly I returned it however immediately ordered a top handle model, JS572ek. Also an excellent saw

After purchasing the additional accessories (ie. JA1012, JA1010, and JA1011) I upgrade my rating to a 5 however, I gave it a 4 Only because of Overall expense and the plastic case it arrived in was broke. Great Tool and highly recommend. Make very little dust with vacuum attached.
