This set is amazing, the bases are very well cast and fit like a glove with the main router. The soft start feature is fantastic and completely eliminates kick movement when the motor engages, makes the router very safe. This also is compatible and fits in the router tables, so I love that as well! The adjustment mechanism is very easy to move and doesn’t stick anywhere.

I love this router. It has plenty of power. A couple days after I received it I used it to plane some wood slabs using a homemade planing jig and a 1-1/2″ flat bottom bit. This router didn’t even flinch. The trigger mechanism is perfect. I suspect every router will eventually adopt this. My only nit-pick is the two wrench system for changing bits. I’d rather have a one wrench mechanism, but that is a minor inconvenience.

I bought this base after my old router (another brand) burned up. While at the store looking at other models I saw this and it has everything I was looking for. The fixed and plunge base, variable speed, LED lights, two collets and available dust collection, low contoured handles with the trigger in handle.I saw some poor reviews on the quality of the dust collection parts and possible cracking so I just purchased an aftermarket brand that is polycarbonate and have had no issues with it. It cuts down on 95% of the chips that would otherwise require cleanup! I can use the fixed base in my router table and the plunge base for everything else. I sprayed the posts on the plunge mechanism with TopCote and it works smooth as glass, no sticking or tight spots! The quick release lever allows easy removal for access to the collet for changing bits easily. And the innovative cord attachment looks like it should provide years of service without getting the cord end damaged where it goes into the motor, Great Idea! The case is huge but should fit anything you need for using the router. I won’t need the case as I will not travel with the router so it was not an issue either way.

I enjoy the trigger in the handle, the soft start motor, the LEDs, the transparent base, the variable speed, the smooth operation, and the depth adjustment feature. The draw backs are that it is a little heavy and the router does not fit my craftsman router table.

Exactly what I was hoping for, Quality, Smooth, Quiet, Plenty of Power. Nice case fits both bases. Adjustment works great on the fixed base, have not used the plunge base yet but looks nice as well. Would absolutely buy again or recommend. I have not been let down with Bosch Quality so far.

Bought the Combo set, then over the next couple months bought several of the accessories (edge guide, dust collectors, offset wrenches, and new 1/2-inch router bits).I am very happy I bought this router, after shopping at several stores and reading countless reviews online I decided on the Bosch. I mounted the fixed base to a router table insert, and use the plunge base for all handheld work. I know a lot of people have complained about the lack of smooth travel in the plunge base. Have I experienced the same?…Yes, but ONLY when I don’t apply equal downward pressure on both handles. There is no way the plunge will slide smooth if you are only pushing on one handle. I don’t think any plunge base will slide smooth if both handles are not pushed equally. What I like?… the soft start, ease of bit change, plunge base, and height adjustment features in both bases, and the solid feel the plunge base has. What I don’t like?…took me a couple of uses to get use to the weight of a 2.3HP router, as my previous machine is a 1HP plastic consumer version.Advise I may offer?… This is a very high-end machine, thus you should treat it with respect and TLC to insure you get many years of great service. Don’t abuse it, drop it, toss it in the bed of your work-truck, or let clowns borrow it.Also, be cautious of the dust collector attachments, be gentle with them and they will never crack.

Product had all features that were advertised. An unexpected surprise was that it came in a nice storage case! The router is powerful and runs very smoothly. Quite responsive.Only flaw I’ve seen so far is that when mounted in a non Bosch router table the depth adjustment is in the back so I have to look behind the table or turn the table around so I can see what I am doing.

In the past I’ve always dropped the bit into the work or drilled a hole first. Being able to use the plunge is so much easier and safer. The handles with the on/off switch in them is simply a great idea. I never did like having to let go of one of the handles in order to turn the router off. My previous router only had one speed so I’m seeing that the different speeds really makes a difference with different bits. There’s nothing that I can’t do with this unit.

Great plunge router. Plenty of power, easy bit changes, sturdy frame, and easy adjustments of depth of cut.

There are two issues I have found with this router, one is that the brushes do not last as long as I expected. Maybe this is due to the power output, but I didn’t get a lot of time on mine before it quit. A new pair of brushes and it was back on line good as new. The other issue is chips and sawdust getting up into the hollow of the handle with the switch. If enough sawdust and chips get packed in there tight enough it will impede on the switch and cause the router to either run intermittently or not at all until you take it apart and clean out all the saw dust. Having owned and enjoyed many Bosch tools in my time I guess I just expected more from this machine. Those two issues aside {kinda difficult to do at this point} it is a fantastic router with plenty of power, very easy and dead accurate adjustments, not as loud as most and very ergonomic to use.
