This Bosch Router Combination Kit includes a plunge and a fixed-based router that make it a snap to achieve precise adjustments. Both routers feature fast, 2.3 HP, soft-star motors. Variable speed dials let you set the speed you need for the job, and there’s a trigger power switch in the handle. Constant response circuitry maintains consistent speed under load. For quick conversions, both routers have a 2-stage, tool-free, quick-clamp system. Contoured handles provide comfort and control on the job.

I am a longtime cabinetmaker and carpenter and I have used a wide variety of routers—this Bosch is simply the best I’ve ever purchased. Powerful, lightweight, and fun. I looked at the ones on the shelf at Home Depot but after doing a little research found this model a better fit for my use and for my desire to buy the best router I could afford. I have to admit to being partial to Bosch but I also own power hand tools made by Dewalt and Porter Cable. Nevertheless, with certain tools, Bosch is my favorite brand. So if you like Bosch, and want a router, this model is a terrific choice.

I used it on my router table, and performed outstanding.

One of the first power tools I owned, on recommendation of my early mentor, was a router. Unfortunately, I never felt comfortable using it, thanks to my relative fear of wielding a bit flying at 20,000 rpm and the crude user interface between the handles and bit… poor visibility, lack of connection/feel, not to mention off-handle controls. Fast forward to one year after purchasing the Bosch MRC23EVSK and I am experiencing how useful a router can be. This router has heft, is even competitively heavier than others, but does not feel heavy when I’m using it. The handles are comfortable, isolate much of the bit vibration, and are shaped such that YOU control the router rather than vice-versa. The bit and cutting area is lit with bright LEDs, and controls are all (except for variable speed) on the handles, pulled through another Bosch innovation that connect the base to the motor. I am using it so much, and experiencing so many ways to apply its usefulness, that I recently also bought Bosch’s little colt palm router for trimming and smaller jobs.

This is a great and powerful router. Nice quality and comes with a nice box.

Everything worked as expected. The product is very well thought out. Super nice starting, great adjustability. The plunging is a bit sticky at first but after a while starts to smooth out. The button mechanism is a bit corny but pretty useful over all. Was using pretty large bits in this thing no problem with correct speeds. Overall it’s a very high quality product, and the case is pretty nice.

The case is surprisingly large. It takes up lots of storage space. The tool is nice. It starts smoothly and does the work. The trigger in the handle is a convenient feature.

The function of the router has meet my expectations

Really nice build quality. Good balance. Powerful and easily controlled. My only issue pertains to the plunge base. It is smooth through the first 3/4s of its downward travel and then becomes very sticky. I had three separate units all with this same problem. Ultimately, based on the price relative to comparable units, I went with a different router. The build quality of this unit is unrivaled. Unfortunately, the plunge base blows it.

This router is wonderful, but one of it’s best innovations fails to deliver in full. The grip actuated power switch is a great design feature, but what happens when you want to mount this in a router lift? Most lifts mount just the motor without the base. There’s no way to turn this router on.The design team should do one of two things.1. Integrate a power switch onto the motor. In the OFF position, the grip mounted trigger will operate the motor. In the ON position, it’s just like any other router and will run until turned off.2. Create a power switch which can snap onto the router motor which allows for constant on so that the motor isn’t dependent on the base for the power switch.Option 2 is of course easier as option 1 needed to be considered during the engineering and planning phase, and it’s too late not.As a hand-held router, this is one of the best out there. If you plan to do more advanced routing, it’s limited by the fact that there’s no power button on the motor.

Good product, I recommend it.

For my first router I love it. Simple, bought bosch table too so no issue attaching fixed base. It very quiet when spins, usually tools get noise. You can adjust depth and use the plunger. Comes in a box which is plus. Worth the money, now its time to do some serious woodworking.

I bought this kit new to cut and shape a corian countertop for my bathroom. It cut the solid surface like butter with no chips or snags. I particularly like the easy depth stops on the plunge base. Soft start is a nice feature but I’m in the habit of starting the machine and letting it rev up before I contact the material so it does me little good; however this makes the feature that provides consistent rpm under load really beneficial. I love the trigger in the handle; it’s an excellent design.I’ve used it since on both hard and soft woods and it’s got ample power. I mounted the fixed base in a table and ran a bunch of 1x through an ogee to make trim and was making beautiful full depth passes with no problems.

Soft Start is a stand out feature from my past experience and the whole router is smooth and accurate. I really like the weight as I thought it might be on the heavy side, definitely worth upgrading to this model. I’ve only had it for a little over a week and building a router table and cabinet with a flip open top for easy bit changes and adjustments. More than I expected, this is so smooth in its operation, I know I’ll use the router more and more now that I have this one.

Start with the blow molded box it came in. It hold the two bases wrenches and collets. It also has spots for the cone centering device, one spare collect, the fixed base extraction hood and for six template guides. So grab your box it came in and pick your router bit and go.
