I’ve had this router combo for about 6 months now and I can say its been worth every penny. By far the best part is the on off trigger thats built into the handle. Not only is it comfortable to use but its a great safety feature, meaning you dont have to take your hand off the router to turn it off. The plunge base is smooth and the micro adjust is great. I also love that this router uses dials to adjust depth and not a ring like other manufacturers. I think its easier to dial in adjustments. Oh and that little LED light underneath the router really helps the user seeing what theyre cutting! Overall, fantastic!

This is an outstanding power tool combination given to use your free reign to work from many different angles freeform plunge, or table style it exceeded my expectations. Also the diversity between quarter inch shank in half and shank was a huge plus. Highly recommend this unit.

I actually bought the EVSPK1617 a month ago and used it and returned it for the MRC23EVSK model because this model in my opinion is safer. The MRC23EVSK has the switch located one of the handles which is an awesome safety feature. Every make and model should have this feature in the event you have to let go of the unit for some reason hence the motor will stop. Don’t worry if you want a continuous run on the motor it has a lock feature as well. I felt more comfortable using this model because the grip is molded to fit the hands better. I also like the fact there are two L.E.D. lights located on the bottom for better visualization. However this model has one slight pitfalls. What I am disappointed is that there is no chip guard with this model; come to find out Bosch does not make one for this model but it is provided with the EVSKPK1617, I don’t understand why the inconsistency. The macro and micro adjusting knobs are very good, better than the ring type on some routers. I feel much more confident using this unit because of its locking mechanisms are excellent. This unit is well engineered. Also included is a very nice carrying case, the inside is molded for both units and has placements for some of the optional accessories. This is a great router!!

Use it to cut tenons for bread board ends for a custom table I am making. So far so good, I have only used the plung attachment because I have a fixed router in the router table. The variable speed is great for different types of hardwood or soft pine. Also like the fact it has 1/4″ and 1/2″ collets. I use 1/2 bit for several applications

Soft start and an on/off switch in the handle makes this router very easy to operate and control.Variable speed is also an asset if larger diameter bits are used. Visibility is good and the fan removes most of the cuttings from the router path. This router was purchased primarily for the plunge base. Use at present has been limited, but has not disappointed . The plunge function was slightly sticky until lubed with a dry lubricant. The location of the on/off switch makes this router unusable with an aftermarket router lift in a router table, although it can be used with the fixed base which is adjustable through the table..

Love the soft start, trigger control system and the LED illumination. Very comfortable to operate. I mainly use it for flattening slabs in my router sled but it’s nice having the combo option. It works perfect for my needs. Would be nice if it came with a collar kit tho.

I put this router into a Router table. It runs well at various speeds and doesn’t seem to bog down under load. I like everything about the router set except for the lift mechanism. After using it for a year, the mechanism quit working. The problem was the shaft has a turned down area with an E clip on it. That is all that holds the weight of the router motor when you are raising or lowering the motor. The E clip jumped out of the turned down area and rounded it so it would continue to jump out. I ended up replacing the shaft and the e clip. Now, when I raise the motor from above the table, I put my hand under the motor and push up on it to take the weight off the E clip. It would be nice if the modified the plunge base/motor so you can remove the electrical connection on the outside of the motor and mount it in a router lift. I really like this motor.

I recently purchased the MRC23EVSK router combo set and couldn’t more pleased. Being new to woodworking and unfamiliar with many of the manufacturers I spent a lot of hours on the internet researching the products available. For a router I decided to by the Bosch and I could not be more pleased with my purchase. The quality of construction and design is well above what you would expect when compared to the price of this router. Also, the ease of use adds to the enjoyable experience of woodworking for this newbie. Thanks for a great product.

I bought this a few years ago, and I use it both hand-held and in a router table. The router and plunge base are a great setup. However, there is lots of play in the fixed-base, which is especially noticeable when using in a table. To perform above-the-table height changes, you need to make sure to reach into the table and support the motor and push up from underneath to make sure that the router moves straight. Also, after a few passes, the motor tends to cock in the base, which leads to poor quality cuts (especially when doing precision work with something like a lock-mitre bit).

Bought it use along with DeWalt dw618 which stays in router table.mr23 is way better than DeWalt for hand held use. No more removing hands from grip to turn router off.Depth adjustment is accurate. Unlike DeWalt no more hit and miss adjustment. Fine depth adjustment makes a big difference.Love that bit change requires 2 wrench. With DeWalt you have to keep pressing a button to lock collet and then use wrench. Two wrench makes a difference. It’s convenient. On bad side. Cord cannot be removed. This make storage inconvenient.Overall it’s a good purchase.

I did a good bit of research and was searching for router that would take me to the next level in my woodworking. This Bosch router delivers. Being able to adjust it from the hex key on the router table is great. Having the fix base for the table and the plunge base for everything else great!

I’ve had the MRC23 for 1 month now, use it all most daily. No complaints I would highly recommend it to anyone no matter how big of a work load they have for a router.

This router is a dream to use. It fits in ones hands and is easy to guide. The lghting allows for easy viewing of the cut. It starts smoothly without an tork.,thus you have complete control. the dust collection works very well. I use it free hand and with the Bosch Router table. Easy to shift between applications. It is powerful and allows for speed adjustment for different types of wood. It is accurate in that it allows me to adust deepth of cut with it’s micro adjustment feature. I am very pleased and thank the engineers and manufacturing staff for a job well done

It’s obvious that the router combination is built with high-quality workmanship in mind. I haven’t used it much yet, but so far, it does a great job.

Like all Bosch Tools the MRC23EVSK is very well made. One big problem is the templet guide adapter. If I secure it to the base, I can’t move the lever to add or change templet guide. You will need to buy an after market base the will accept the standard templet guides. Bosch needs to make a standard base available. I can’t think of a need for quick change out temper guides.

Great combo router set. I have used both the plunge and fixed base, as well as in the Bosch router table. Fit and finish is impeccable as most Bosch tools are. Router has enough power for everything I have thrown at it. The trigger on the handle makes you wonder why all routers are not built like this. Definitely helps with keeping control during start and stops. This is hands down the best router combo available on the market. Keep up the good work Bosch! I am slowly replacing all of my tools with Bosch brand because the quality and R&D that goes into these tools is top notch. Can’t wait for the new Reaxx table saw!

It was worth the extra money to get the combo pack that has the base.

I’ve restarted woodworking in the last year and have been buying tools as I need them. Originally purchased a trim router for doing template routing, but was extremely disappointed with its lack of power. Finally made the jump to a real router by purchasing this kit, and wow was I surprised! The motor is almost 5 times more powerful than the trim router I have, and it virtually glides through everything I’ve used it on so far. I love the plunge capability, and having 2 bases so one can be left in my router table all the time. The on/off on the handle is great too. So far I am really impressed with the quality of this (these) product. I’ll be considering Bosch more often in the future as I continue adding new tools to my shop.

Fantastic router, works flawlessly. A bit heavy, but I knew what I was getting into.
