This router is great, it’s got lots of power to do anything that I’ve asked it to from basic roundovers to new moulding for my kitchen. I really like the finger tip on/off controls. The only issue I’ve had with it is that there is a small magnet on the internal shaft that triggers a hall effect sensor on the speed controller. This snapped in half after my warranty expired, but I was able to open it up and super glue it back together… someone that doesn’t have an electrical engineering background may not know how to troubleshoot and fix that, but I’m sure it would have been easily repaired by Bosch if I had needed to send it in.

I’ve had this router for over a year now. I absolutely love it. The build quality is great and the controls are so user friendly. My only gripe is during a long cut sometimes I let off the trigger pressure just a little and the unit starts to slow. Than it take a second for it to fire back up due to the soft start. I guess I would like more of a positive click when pulling the trigger. But this is no reason not to like the unit. I would recommend this to anyone and would buy it again.

needs a clear plate for the standard bushing so that more light gets through

Bought a while back, great tool. Enough power to glide through hardwoods, just don’t cheap out on the bits

I purchased this router to use on a fixed router table. I used it to make raised panel doors using a select pine for a small project. Worked great out of the box. We’ll see how it works so on some hardwoods projects soon.

i have had Bosch tools in past, and always served me great!! this was No exception!i had one router before and was not real thrilled as how people described in using them?so seen how this one “Looked” and its versatility seemed to be? and was spot on!its Solid and easier to work with considering its bout Mid sized yet easy to “Work With”and one of its selling points “For Me” was was able to go from one base to another in about 30 seconds, and easy to set up and use depth gauge, the spring is a little stiffer than i expected? but a minor hic-up and with a few of its Accessories i was able to do some things i did not expect i was going be able to? making it? well “Fun” !!like “Any Tool” when you have the “Right Ones” for your Given Task? its makes it easier to “Do” and this router i would say if your looking for something you can plan on Using for “YEARS” to come this is a good Investment , with most Projects the Plunge Base was a definite easier way to do many things, and its “Lighting System” helped ALLOT!!and its Soft start was a PLUS!! instead of the “JUMP” to Instant 23,000 RPM!! like my other one was good router, but its just Nicer ramping up gently to speed thats alllike extras on a car like A/C etc. etc. and no fumbling to get router to depth, simple thumb lever and still able to keep “Both Hands” on Handles!! one could say? “Its the Little things?and details that make this one for “Me” a fun thing again.and when i had Questions, Customer service helped allot, was nice!!simple but Complex in its Abilities to Adapt and versatile when its not going to be Obsolete in 3 months.one of the better bargains in its Price range.

I bought this for my router table as my 1617 could not handle my larger bits. I immediately notice a big difference in power with the same bits.
