The Bosch 2.3 HP Fixed Base Router is powered by a robust 15 Amp motor. It features a smart, handle-mounted trigger with lock-on button. The variable speed dial and soft start give you complete control. Constant-Response circuitry maintains constant speed under load. Bright LED lighting illuminates when the router is plugged in to provide enhanced visibility in the bit area.

I have had this router in service on a CNC machine for several months. Something like 8 to 10 times a month it will be not only running, but cutting, 4 to 6 hours per day. So, I’d guess I have already used it more than most will in its lifetime. It is very nicely balanced with virtually no vibration, soft start works beautifully, auto speed control seems perfect. Absolutely no complaints.

After a month of use, the router would give a short burst of power and then nothing until you unplugged it and repeated the process. I took the router to the recognized Bosch repair shop, they were stumped after replacing all the electrical components and the trigger. After contacting Bosch directly and had the solution worked out within five weeks. Works like new now.

Works great, mounted it to my Bosch router table so now I don’t have to remove it and change over to the plunge cut. I can leave this on the mounted on the table and use my other Bosch router with the plunge cut base.

Just purchased this router the other day. It works great! I think what sold me was the trigger on the handle. You don’t have to lift your hand off the machine to tun it off or on. A very save feature. I was considering another brand that was less expensive but from a lot of previous experiences, you sure get what you pay for. No more cheap tools for me. In the end they are just not worth it after all the hassles you go through. I can see I will be looking for more ways to use this router.

Great power, nice balance and reasonable noise level for type of tool. Only issue was it does not match up to my existing router table and did not want to drill holes in the cast aluminum top due to casting ridges. So I bought a Craftsman and it matched up right. Kept this to still use stand alone.

The routers’ performance is exceptional and the powering up cycle is very smooth. However, the router that this new Bosch MRF23EVS replaced was faithful and used for twenty+ years, it just got old and the bearings gave up. The Bosch is everything that my old one was plus a little more power which I was looking for . So you will understand my surprise when setting up to run this new Bosch machine and found it DOES NOT HAVE AN AUTOMATIC SHAFT LOCK for installing router bits. After twenty years I didn’t even think that all routers would not have that. I mean come on! Two wrenches needed to install a BIT??? When shopping I didn’t even stop to consider current router technology would not have that, it should be a standard by now shouldn’t it? I have faith that this Bosch will run as long as my old one but am very disappointed about the primitive bit installation.

Bought this about a month ago and have been using it building an entertainment center with my son-in-law. Like the power, the soft start, the led lights, two collet sizes, but was expecting a shaft-lock rather than two wrenches, and find the trigger must be squeezed and held hard, or else the unit turns off and a tighter squeeze on the trigger is required AGAIN.

Good power for 3 1/2 inch raised panel bit with back cutter in hardwood. Wish it had a lock-out for bit insertion, and a opening cover to aid dust collection. Much more power than the sister 2.25 hp Bosch 1617EVS 12 amp version. Reviews that say these two routers have comparable power at low speeds are VERY WRONG!
