I purchased this router because of the brand name – I always thought Bosch was at the top of the quality list. The only negative (very negative) comment I have is that the “plunge” is not smooth. The advertisement is that the plunge will side very easily (effortlessly) but that isn’t the case on mine. I weigh 220 lbs. and almost have to sit on top of the motor to get it to go down (and, yet I have the release pushed back).

Wow what a router can’t begin to tell you how pleased I am with this Bosch plunge router. I also purchased a router fluting jig from Rockler Woodworking and Hardware. This jig is the best that I have ever used for floating and other jobs, you’re almost cannot mess up with this Bosch plunge router and this router fluting jig from Rockler. In my opinion this Bosch plunge router is this good as any on the market and better than most.

Bought this just today, loaded a 25mm radius round over bit into it (had to plunge through the base plate- easy fix), and went routing! The features make it a breeze to use. This is my second Bosch router.the soft start and the LED light are great additions. They were purchased for different tasks. The old one is used in my router table, and the new one is used in a planer jig that flattens large slabs of wood that are too big for my router. I wasn’t sure it was powerful enough to hog off large amounts of wood using a 2 inch bit, But it does it with ease.

Purchased this router to surface live edge slabs using Nick Offerman rig from Fine Woodworking. The unit has plenty of power to drive a 1 3/4″ diameter bit through walnut without any trouble. The trigger power switch in the handle is great. I had some initial trouble with the plunge slipping until I realized you have to ensure the release lever is secured in the vertical position. Overall, this is a quality router at a relatively affordable price.
