The Bosch MS1233 crown stop kit for miter saws allows crown molding to be nested against fence for simple miter cuts with no beveling required. When not in use, the stops can be easily flipped back over the fence and stored on the tool out of the way of other cutting applications.

I bought the is saw for the slide arm feature. Much better than the dual pipe sliders out there. More smooth and don’t have to have all that sticking out if you have small room to mount. I purchased a Rigid gravity table for a saw from Harbor Freight several years ago. HF 12 in sliding miter worked fine for several years, but was limited in that it would only half bevel and the fences were not tall enough to handle crown “in place” cuts. Also back blade guard would prevent you from cutting anything taller than 4.24 inches without the guard hitting the material. This saw will cut 6.1/4 base board material which is a plus. Great smooth motion in and out without all the wood chips clogging up the arms. You can lock this in chop mode contracted and lock it in extended position which is a great plus. Mounts excellent to the Ridged gravity table with little fuss. Even though this is a beast of a saw, on this table it makes it light weight and easy and quick to setup. The price is a bit steep, and does not contain some of the nice features that the Hitachi saw has, like adjustable Laser so you can put the laser on the left and right side of the cut.. this saw does not have a laser at all. Bosch has a cheesy laser washer you can purchase for additional 140.00 but it only works on one side and very weak to boot… Also for the price tag, it should come with the Crown Stops MS1233. not too expensive, but really for a saw for 599.00 and no laser should have at least included the 14.00 crown stops.. ok Bosch not including a functional laser not to big of deal for me. most you can’t see in daylight anyway, so to me not a deal breaker. Not including crown stops, now I have to shell out additional 14.95 for crown stops. Also, none of the HD or Lowes stores carry them so now I have to place an order and wait.. so I put my crown on hold till I get the stops.. I hate doing crown laying flat.. For this I lowered my rating. However, the saw is very well made, accurate, easy to operate, mounting holes line up with brackets (unlike Hitachi where one hole is offset) useable on standard gravity stands and also quiet compared to my HF unit. the Articulating arms are a huge selling point for me. So smooth and does not get wood chips caught in all those exposed arms like dewalt, HF, and others. Takes up very little room as it sits on stand. Can place against wall and have full functionality. Bevel and pivot table are all controlled from front of unit so no knobs in rear to have to deal with. Sweet table extension arms is a plus. Also has a nice allen wrench holder for fast blade changes, and comes with a 10mm socket.. which you can store on the allen wrench in its holder. the material clamp tool is loose however and no locking knob to hold it in the hole when using it. need a place to store it when not using it.. careful when transporting as the clamp can fall out. For all the cons, for me the Arms sold it… sweet saw.. Bosch really did some home work on this unit..

I haven’t mounted them on my miter saw yet but the superior Bosch design allows for far more stability on larger size crown moulding than you can get with the Dewalt version. The extra slide mount piece makes the extension of size possible and stabile. This is something you can not do with the Dewalt design miter stops. My saw is a Dewalt DWS782 which is a Canadian model of the DWS 780 12″ compound slide miter without the laser. This is a fabulous miter saw. The only thing l wish it had is soft start.Paul……..Oakville, Ontario.
