So far I love this bit for ceramic tile. Unlike the spade type tile bits, you don’t need to tap the back of your drill to prevent walking. So far I’ve drilled around 70 holes and she’s still good as new. I’ve tried a couple holes on porcelain….not very impressed. A diamond bit would work much better.

This carbide tipped drill bit was exactly what I needed to install a shower head holder. It still took a bit of effort to drill through though and there was a bit of travel until a hole could be established.

This carbide bit did four 1/4″ holes in ceramic tile without cracking any of the tiles. Don’t rush and don’t push much, it will work. Also be patient. A young man named John T. was amazingly helpful showing me where it was and friendly. I’m pretty sure he ia a Mgr. if not he should be. And no I’m not his father or brother.
