This is my first powered planer. I used it for a small project and it worked great! I needed to shave a bit off a door so it closed well and this planer did it with ease. This planner is very powerful (6.5 Amp) and easy to handle. It has an ambidextrous grip with a lock release button on both sides. Also has a lock-on feature for continuous operation, so you don’t have to keep your finger on the button. The handle has a rubber grip for non-slip operation. The planer weighs 7 lbs. including the cord which is 8 feet long. On the bottom towards the end there is a spring loaded blade guard which keeps the blade safe. It folds away when in use. There is a knob on the top which easily lets you adjust the cutting depth by turning it in either direction. The depth setting is clearly marked in partial inches or millimeters.I did not to use the extra accessories, but it does come with two attachments: a bag to catch the dust / shavings and a dual-mount guide fence. This planer is well built and designed. I hope to use it for many years to come. It’s a Bosch after all.

By the sound of the corded planer you can tell this is another very powerful Bosch power tool. It is powerful and the blades come very sharp. The detachable fence makes it easy to plane a solid wood door bottom as well as other thin work pieces. the dust port is a great feature and works very well. Different height adjustments from 0 to 3/32 inches.

This planer made easy work of several doors I had to plane. It makes very smooth and straight edges, and the bevel dresses the edges of the doors quite well. This is a very accurate planer due to the dual mount non-marring fence. LED light helps you to see what you’re doing. 6.5 amps=Plenty of Power!

I bought the planer a month ago to use making stump tables. It is so easy to use and after hours of planning the stumps the blade was still very sharp. I have done 4 stumps top and bottom and just changed the blade. I am very happy with the planet.

I purchased the PL1632 to plane 3 doors. I then used it on some dimensional lumber, hardwood (table legs). Awesome performance, great dust management. Blade leave a really fine finish. Fence is very useful and is well designed.

As a novice to woodworking I found this very easy to use to destroy virgin lumber. Letting it rest just right when starting to work with it gives your wood an awesome groove not easily achievable any other way. Seriously – this is a great tool and like any other power tool read the instructions or watch videos on How to properly use it. It is high quality and will last me a lifetime of proper usage. Nice long cord. Easy on hands (even with carpel tunnel and arthritis)

The tool and price point are 5 stars. The blades on the other hand are 3 stars. The blades are definitely sharp and did a great job at shaving fiberglass and gel gel on the boat but they have a short life span, cannot be resharpened because they are very narrow and expensive. So I averaged a 4 star opinion. Another issue I had was the size of the hand grip being too short which constantly caused my hand to release the power switch lock, otherwise a good planner.
