I bought is to replace a 25 year old generic power planer that finally died.I needed it to plane some doors after carpet installation. I have not used it for that yet, but did test it on some stock in my workshop. Even though this is a single bladed model, it produced a very smooth cut. The fence leaves a lot to be desired though. It takes a while to install and adjust (too many pieces).It should have come with either a case or storage bag. Also, it would have been nice if it had an adapter to fit the hose on my shop vac, the small bag fills up immediately.

This planer worked great! I had new carpet installed an all interior doors needed to be cut down for the thicker carpet/pad. I was able to get them all fitting perfectly using this. It’s a great tool and would recommend.

The planer itself is truly great. However, the included guide is far from 90 degrees to the planer bed. I ruined a couple of nice boards before I figured it out. I don’t think I should have to pound on the guide and tweak it with washers and spacers to get it straight.I use the planer a lot on recalimed pallet wood and it’s a big time saver. Makes really nice edges.Highly recommend, but be aware of the edge guide.
