Bosch is the most awesome power planer I didn’t have a planer before but I tried Boss I love her so much

It cuts easily and leaves a well planed surface. But, it requires a lot of skill to achieve a well planed surface if the wood is wider than the blade.

This planer was easy to set up, love the ambidextrous dust ports. there is nothing on this planer that I dislike, I purchased this planer about a month ago to use on a kitchen remodel. all of the studs in this house are rough sawn from a saw mill nothing is straight this house was built in the 20’s they did not know what a square was.

Great tool better than I expected. Machined after it was built to have perfect plane on the cutting side

Evan the chip bag collects almost everything which I did not expect. Easy to handle and performs as expected.

5 stars because this was a Christmas present and they loved it! Bosch is apparently the best for planers and such and this planer does its job for sure! Only downside apparently is that the sawdust bag had ripped slightly during heavy use because it wasn’t emptied out in time and when it’s used heavily, you are constantly having to empty the bag.

Cleans boards in just a few passes. Very little to no sanding.

I bought this unit to cut down the raised grain on some redwood and it worked just great.

The tool it self great, the delivery method not so much. was not even boxed when we received it, the little bit of cardboard that it was packaged in was barely holding together. The only reason we didn’t return it was that the tool itself was in a hard plastic case that was zip tied shut.

Top notch planer. Impressed with the carbide blade cut and finish. 1 1/4″ hose fits in place of bag to keep everything clean

I purchased this planer to use in replacing 10 interior doors. Everyone of the door jams needed something done to fit the new replacement door. This planer went through the wood with no hesitation. The shavings bag catches most of the shavings but fills up quickly. The inside of the shavings bag does not have finished edges on the cloth so there were a lot of threads stuck to the shavings when i emptied it. Used scissors to trim them. The depth adjustment is simple and easy to use. I always like several passes for deeper cuts. The tool weight is great (just over 6 pounds). Heavy enough to stay into the material but not too heavy you have to struggle with the tool to control it. If your tool is not flat against the surface you will get an angled plane. The fence is sunstantial. Comes in a nice case that holds everything. Has a really nice long power cord. I am glad i got it. Worth the cost

I love this planer. It works seemlessly with my vacuums which connect to the dust ports perfectly. Only used it once as I write this review, but it was perfect. Smooth, powerful, clean cuts. Highly recommended.

Works very well. I will agree with others who say that the bottom shoe was machined a little roughly, and it didn’t look finished. I fixed this myself though with a dremel and some buffing wheels and polishing rouge, now it’s shiny and smooth (after about an hour or so of buffing/polishing). I will admit that I should not have had to do this work, it should come that way from the factory. That was a major screw-up by Bosch and their Malaysian factory where this planer is built. However, having said that, it works well, is very powerful, and cuts very smoothly and flat. It works seamlessly with my Bosch vacuum and I had no mess from woodchips after I used it with the vacuum attached. In conclusion I would say, don’t let the bottom shoe finishing issue deter you, this is a good planer. I’d buy it again.

this is a great planner. chip collector excellent. I have only two minor complaints 1) I have yet to figure out how to repack the planner, the edge guide, and the chip collector back into the case and 2) the adjustment knob on the front requires some twisting force to change its setting.

A friend insisted I use his on two doors and he was to retire and wanted his planer back after shopping around I ended up buying the same planer it worked better than the older one my friend had lent me that was used for years,I think this is a excellent planer and should be on top of list to be in the tool box
