If you have made or use an infinitely adjustable dado jig, this item will center the router bit in the router base and keep the dado uniform in width regardless of the exact orientation of the router base. This tool also requires that the hole in the base is concentric with the outer diameter of the base to produce those perfect dados.

Bought this to make sure dovetail bit in router was centered in template being used. Was able to use the centering bit to ensure same. Worked great and was able to make minor adjustment because of using the centering bit.

Best way to make sure your base plate is centered.

This is a simple and effective too to ensure that your router bit is centered relative to the router base. That’s an essential alignment, particularly when using template guide/bushings. A slightly misaligned bit may result in outcomes off from your intent, but more than a slight misalignment of the bit can damage your bushing and bit.The tool comes in two parts, the arbor and the cone. That allows you to mount the cone on the arbor in the appropriate orientation for your collet – 1/4″ or 1/2″. It was challenging sliding the cone over the arbor, but I found a little bit of machine oil made it an easier task.

Does what it’s supposed to, it helps you center the sub-base of your handheld router. However, the plastic cone feels a bit cheap and flimsy. Would have been a nice addition if they had made the tips tapered to a point. This would make it easy to center your router while mounted to a jig etc.

Works great with my Colt palm router. Have never had any problems with it. This is well made and sturdy, not a thin/weak product. Would purchase again.

Not necessary for most users, but if you make your own sub-bases for routers or use template bushing, this is a must have item. Well made.

The Bosch Router Sub-Base Centering Pin & Cone works very well with both my Bosch MRP23EVS and DeWalt DWP611 routers. I recommend this item for centering your router plate and bit before performing any routing with a guide bushing or any edge or dado routing.

Used it once. Nothing more to say. It works. I wish it was sold in the store then I would not have to do these reviews.

This should be part of the router set but it’s not. It’s a “most have” gadget.
