We have owned the smaller version of this drill for many years however this one has tremendous strength. We drive a lot of 8′ ground rods and this drill does it in half the time as the smaller drill and we don’t have to struggle with it. Unfortunately they don’t make these as a spine drive only SDS-Max. Our other tool is a spine shaft so I bought an adapter that goes from SDS to spine and that allows us to use the old bits. Great tool and very happy to own it. It is heavy so if you need to do a lot of drilling perpendicular to yourself then you need some brawn.

I originally purchased the Milwaukee 2 inch SDS max max hammer drill, but returned it after learning it did not have enough torque for what I needed, and that it was extremely picky about which bits would fit in the Chuck. I replaced it with this Bosch, and I really like it. The Bosch has more torque before the clutch releasea, and it has excellent power and balance. I use it with a 5 ft long 1-5/8 diameter bit to drill holes in the ground for anchoring solar array. The Bosch is several inches shorter than the Milwaukee, which makes it easier to use with long bits. Also, getting bits in and out of the chuck is a breeze.

I bought this for installing a fence (driven metal T-Posts) in rough heavily wooded terrain. A large section of the land is a solid Georgia granite outcroping. Of course the fence line runs right across it. This drill motor, along with the drill HC5091 will drill a 1.5 inch diameter hole 16 inches deep in 5 minutes. Saved myself thousands over having a fence company do it. And it was FUN!Tried to attach a photo. Resized down, cropped, dropped resolution, nothing would work. You will just have to imagine this drill powering through solid granite.Wear eye and ear protection. You only get one set of each and they have to last your whole life.

I purchased this to help chip out a brick staircase in the front of my home. I’ve used competitors rotary hammers for work issued by my company and the bosch is by far a superior product. I probably didn’t need to spend the money I did on this tool for my personal needs but no buyers remorse here. Because of the drills weight (about twice the weight of the competitor drill) it packs a punch and doesn’t fatigue you like others. I just purchased the tamper plate, looking forward to using it with this product!

Very good drill. Much heavier duty than the cordless DeWalt and a ton less money than the Hilti. Runs through 10″ concrete with a 1 3/4″ bar bit like butter. Hopefully it holds up to lots of use.
