The Bosch RH540M 1-9/16 in. SDS-max Combination Hammer is a combo rotary hammer and hammer-only tool designed for concrete contractors and professional remodelers who need a powerful and versatile tool. It delivers 6.1 ft. lbs. of impact energy while weighing in at only 15.2 lbs. The motor is rated at 170 to 340 RPM in rotary mode and 1,200 to 2,750 BPM in hammer mode, which will easily reduce concrete to dust. Its SDS-max bit system allows tool-free and one-handed bit changes. The Vario-Lock mechanism lets users angle the chisel into 12 different positions to optimize the working angle. The hammer has a Dual Mode Selector Knob and service minder brushes, which clearly indicate when preventive maintenance is required. This 4-1/2 in. ergonomic angle grinder features a narrow grip zone for all-day comfort and control, combined with a powerful 10 Amp motor. This is a very good and heavy duty SDS Max hammer drill. Most recently I got to test it for a variety of jobs around my house. I used it to chip out asphalt, to cut paver bricks, and to drill holes in a concrete wall. I have attached a video to show at least one job. The power of this item is very good, with the ability to easily cut through all of the above listed materials. The construction of this tool is very strong as the environment which one would use this is generally not a forgiving work environment. Lots of dirt, and garbage around, and most times one is not treating the tools like babies. Get the job done is the mantra, so the tools can take a hit. This one though, should last for a real long time.The clutch which protects both you and the hammer drill, is not too slippy, but not too strong. It is well adjusted to release only under a fairly hi stuck loading factor (like you forgot to switch to hammer only while using a chisel).Take a look at the video, as this shows its ease of use cutting some pavers. I highly rate this one…

This tool is smoother than I was expecting it to be. It is well balanced and easy to use. It carves concrete into powder (with the chisel bit) rather than blowing things up into shrapnel like I initially assumed it would. Great tool!

I will say out of the 3 rotary hammer drills I have i love this bosch its the one i seem to grab everytime it’s not heavy at all its well balanced and has great torque and power it’s extremely well built the other two i own in which i will be giving away is a hilti do not get wrong it is nice it works well and is of good quality and the other is a makita but the bosch feels better the power the way it handles on the job i do alot of demo and again i love it wish i could afford a bigger bosch right now just to have if your looking for one dont look any further

I have been looking at several new Rotary Hammers for replacing the older ones. I was on a job that the other crews were using Bosch Tools.
