The new RH540M SDS-Max rotary hammer from Bosch provides maximum productivity in all day drilling and chiseling applications. At 6.1 ft. lbs. of impact energy (E.P.T.A), the new RH540M provides up to 30% more impact energy versus the previous model for best in class performance. The RH450M also provides variable speed for better bit control during application start-up. Includes SDS-Max and Spline Chiseling Dust Collection Attachment. The HDC300 is a unique dust collection attachment which will fit on all Bosch SDS-max, spline combination rotary and demolition hammers with exception of the 11316EVS SDS-Max Demolition Hammer. The HDC300 is unique in that it allows the user to access the chisel for installation, removal and/or adjustment without removing the attachment. The shroud itself focuses air suction from the vacuum around the chisel for maximum dust collection. The attachment also features a metal extension arm which can be adjusted forwards or backwards to position it correctly around the chisel and to accommodate different chisel lengths. The metal arm also provides added job-site durability. The shroud features a convenient rubber bumper at the tip of the shroud to provide cushion should it contact the work piece during use. The HDC300 comes in a kit that includes an extension tube and 3 adaptors to fit different sized hammers.

I have been looking at several new Rotary Hammers for replacing the older ones. I was on a job that the other crews were using Bosch Tools. I tried a couple that was on site and was immediately impressed by the weight, power and variable speed. I could not find a RH540m in any of my suppliers. So after searching HD.com, It finally arrived. Only used a few times but so far so good. The drill bits with the sds max head are kind of pricey but the regular bits are priced fairly

This thing is absolutely amazing, and it works every bit as well as I had hoped that it would. I attached it to several different brand rotary hammers, both cordless and corded and was compatable with all of them. It is not limited to blue hammer drills. There was one that I had an issue with getting the attachment part of the unit to stay oriented with the drill, but it was more of an inconvenience than an issue. It was solved with some shimming.If you are doing any masonry work in finished or semi-finished areas where dust control is even a small thought, this will help greatly. It made a huge difference in several projects.

Unit will fit most all Bosch SDS-max and spline rotary and demolition hammers, and bring you in compliance with recent OSHA silica regulations. It certainly does work, picking up the brunt of dust created in my trials with my Bosch 1-5/8″ SDS-Max rotary hammer. That said, I did find the product a bit cheesy and clunky, and overpriced for what it is.
