The new RH540M SDS-Max rotary hammer from Bosch provides maximum productivity in all day drilling and chiseling applications. At 6.1 ft. lbs. of impact energy (E.P.T.A), the new RH540M provides up to 30% more impact energy versus the previous model for best in class performance. The RH450M also provides variable speed for better bit control during application start-up. Includes SDS-Max and Spline Chiseling Dust Collection Attachment. The HDC300 is a unique dust collection attachment which will fit on all Bosch SDS-max, spline combination rotary and demolition hammers with exception of the 11316EVS SDS-Max Demolition Hammer. The HDC300 is unique in that it allows the user to access the chisel for installation, removal and/or adjustment without removing the attachment. The shroud itself focuses air suction from the vacuum around the chisel for maximum dust collection. The attachment also features a metal extension arm which can be adjusted forwards or backwards to position it correctly around the chisel and to accommodate different chisel lengths. The metal arm also provides added job-site durability. The shroud features a convenient rubber bumper at the tip of the shroud to provide cushion should it contact the work piece during use. The HDC300 comes in a kit that includes an extension tube and 3 adaptors to fit different sized hammers.
- RH540M: SDS-Max bit system -tool-free bit changes with automatic bit locking, dust protection and maximum impact energy transfer rate
- RH540M: combination dual mode selector knob allows the tool to be switched between rotary hammer mode or hammer only mode
- RH540M: 20 plus 1 clutch settings perfect torque adjustments for precise screw driving
- RH540M: innovative service modules designed so a qualified service technician can quickly replace the brushes and cord
- RH540M: 360 auxiliary handle provides a wide range of movement along with operator comfort
- RH540M: integral clutch helps minimize torque reaction
- HDC300: unique ski-boot style clamping band provides easy installation and adjustment onto the hammer tube
- HDC300: adjustable metal extension arm provides easy adjustment of the attachment for proper positioning around the chisel and can also accommodate different chisel lengths
- HDC300: 1-3/8 in. Dust port fits Bosch dust extractor vacuum nozzles; Bosch adaptors (sold separately) can convert the dust port to 1-1/4 in. Or 2 in. Vacuum nozzles
- HDC300: 3-piece adaptor set allows the chiseling dust collection attachment to be installed on different size hammers
- HDC300: thanks to a durable clamping band, the attachment is easy to install and adjust on all the hammers it was designed to fit
- HDC300: attachment also features a metal extension arm that can be adjusted to position it correctly around the chisel and to accommodate different chisel lengths

This is an SDS Max Rotary Hammer, which differs from the smaller SDS Plus Rotary Hammer (see my video for a side by side comparison of the bits). This is a heavy tool (14.2 pounds), it has to be to be able to provide a whopping 6.1 ft. lbs of impact energy and deliver 1,200 to 2,750 blows per minute. The tool-free bit changes, and automatic bit locking, make for fast setup and swap out of bits. The bit rotates and locks into 12 different positions, and the variable speed ensures the right speed for the job.The ancillary handle is fully adjustable to any of 360 degrees around the tool.Where using a chisel to lift old tiles, or a drill bit to power through masonry, this bad boy has the power to do it all, and much more.

The attachment didn’t work real well for what it was intended but the drill worked great.

This did the job with more in the tank. But I wish it was lighter. Overhead work sucks

The 120-Volt 1-9/16 in. SDS-Max Rotary Hammer is a wonderful tool to own. It does not come with any bits and they are kind of expensive. We chose a spade bit for our first use. Our ground is so hard that it is impossible to dig in. This tool made it look like butter. We will have some concrete work to do at some point in the near future and this will come in really handy. It has variable speeds and can be switched between rotary/hammer and just hammer. It’s very easy to change the bits. It is a little heavy for a woman (at least for me) but my husband loves it. It also comes in a very nice case to keep it protected when not in use. It probably is more for the professional but we love it for our DIY homeowner needs.

actually the $129 masonry bit was defective or missing set screw. so I wasn’t able to use this for the whole job. disappointed I spent near $600 for a job which at this time was useless .

We used the SDS-max and Spline Chiseling Dust Collection Attachment for Rotary Hammers with a Bosch SDS hammer drill (model number 11255VSR) and a Rigid shop vacuum (model number WD1851). To evaluate effectively, the first time we used the dust collection tool, we replaced the filter on the vacuum. That makes a difference since some of the debris can contain very fine particles that will clog up your vacuum and diminish suction. That’s an issue with the vacuum, not the dust collection tool. The dust collection tool worked really well and was not difficult to attach to either the hammer drill or the vacuum. It does add some bulk to your hammer drill, but it’s not significant and the benefit of the dust tool outweighs a bit of bulk. Both husband and son liked it, so I’m good with that.

Had to replace my 18 year old Bosch hammer with this one. SDS Max bit compatible and seems to work just fine. The old Bosch was made in Germany this new one is made in China….. so we will see if it goes the distance. Bosch hammers are known in the trade for their reliability and longevity.

Ir have been a builder remodeler for 48 years, and as such I have many opportunities to use a product like this SDS-MAX AND SPLINE CHISELING DUST COLLECTION ATTACHMENT FOR ROTARY HAMMERS with my dust extractor to keep the jobsite clean. We are more aware of the need to preserve our health these days, and this unit works very well to accomplish that goal These are of high quality, and work very well for clean up work, for concrete drilling, other other applications.

It pounds right through the rock without effort. Right now I’m just using it to dig rock and clay out of my backyard. No issues!! Fully expect it to complete any task I give it. Plan to use it to break up a concrete patio and drill holes for rebar also expect to use it for tile removal.

This tool is smoother than I was expecting it to be. It is well balanced and easy to use. It carves concrete into powder (with the chisel bit) rather than blowing things up into shrapnel like I initially assumed it would. Great tool!
