I bought it last spring hence needed 5″ sander for narow baseboard. It is an excellent product so far. Gives nice swirl free finish ,low vibration and good dust control with vacuum. Problem is the same as with other German sanders… really strange shallow depth weak hook up adhesion velcro they use formthe pads. Perhaps ,they want us keep buying replacement pads.I glue a deeper generic velcro onto the pad and it makes it much longer working pad.The other solution would be to put a pad saver before putting sandpaper on it. Other brands make them as well as diablo which is bosch’s subsidiary…

update on my last review, I had stated that after using this sander for a month the sanding discs were not staying on the sander, It was because I had bought cheap sanding discs, bought some brand name discs and have no more problems

This thing works. It stops spinning when you lift if off the wood, a safety feature. Must use the filter, else it blows dust everywhere. Filter box fills fast so every 5 minutes on wood you need to stop and shake it out. A little difficult for me to get the filter box off since it has an O-ring air tight fit. The on/off switch is not easy to operate with thick leather gloves on– much easier with your bare finger. Glad I bought this. There’s something satisfying about having a quality tool in your hands.

My only concern was if the paper would stay on ok.. it does. Great tool. I hook it to my little one gal vacuum and get near zero dust. Vari speed is smooth and anti vibe lets you rwork for extended time.
