We have purchased cheaper sanders and they dont last long – the pad that holds the sandpaper fails. This Bosch sander was more expensive but it is worth it. It is a larger sander, better motor, higher quality. We should have bought this one the first time. Love it so far.

I have used many sanders over the years, most recently the Porter Cable random orbital sander. When my beloved Porter Cable broke, I was hesitant to buy one built in a country with a bad reputation for quality control. I looked at the Bosch, it was more expensive, but I bought it. BOY AM I GLAD I DID! I love the vibration control! My hands used to get numb from lots of sander time, but no more. Even my workers have commented on how much they like this sander. I love the dust control. Either the portable attachment with an internal filter or I can connect the sander to a vacuum for even better dust control. The sander comes with an extra long cord, a feature that keeps you from having to automatically drag out an extension cord.

This sander is pretty awesome! The only problem I can think of is what to do with my Dewalt sander. Maybe use it as a paperweight? The sander it’s comfortable to use for hours, it’s quiet, the filter works great and most importantly it takes off material fairly quickly.

Why did I wait so long to buy a “real” sander! I have worked my way through the popular 1/4 sheet sanders,ie. Craftsman, Makita, Dewalt etc. The Bosch was the first round R/O sander that I have used and it really has changed my mind about sanding and the results it can make. NO MORE swirls in the wood! I build exterior furniture for sale and this sander has eliminated about a half hour of finish work on each piece!

I am starting to do a lot more cedar outdoor furniture and some indoor furniture also and I needed to upgrade my sander. I had a less expensive Bosch sander and it done the job fair for the price of it, but I was floored at how well this sander does. It almost makes sanding fun, no vibration to speak of to me, does not wear out your sandpaper as fast, very quiet, and very east to handle. Should have purchased this a long time ago. Regardless of what level of woodworker you are, this sander is the way to go. Yes I would buy this machine again. I did buy it when Home Depot had them 20% off, but I would pay full price if I had to.

At this point it seems like it’s working great. I like the fact that you can use the included 5” sanding pad or with extra purchase you can exchange it to a 6”. I’ve had a Bosch sander before. It does sit up higher than my other sanders because of the design. Hopefully this will last for many yea.

Best ROS I have ever used!!! Smooth easy to control especially considering the height, which takes a little time to get used to. Initially I thought that is was not removing as much stock as some of my other ROS but realized after some testing that it was actually removing more. This is due to the vibration control, the substantial weight of the tool and that the decible level is so much lower than other ROS. The dust collection also contributed since there was almost no dust left on the work/test pieces. When i hooked it up to my dust collection there was no dust left behind at all. This ROS IS WELL WORTH THE $$$. Im sure it will last many many years longer than other ROS I have used in the past.
