The Bosh 4100 insert is a bargain in comparison to making your own. It clips into the table properly and has adjusting screws to set it flush with the table. The only concern that I have is that it is quite thin, so time will tell whether it holds up.

For the price, the insert exceeded my expectations. The previous insert broke. I glued it together but could not get it flush with the table saw. The new insert is flush with the table saw.

unit is made of plastic, so its lightly warped but usable; mounting hardware and adjusting screws are useful ; for the price I paid six dollars I think it will work very well; it is necessary to do a cut for the riving knife but I knew that

Insert is hard plastic with metal insert for kickback mechanism. Easy install and cut slot to give minimum clearance from blade. Help to contain dust and limit small cutoffs from falling into cavity below blade. Use standard insert for cuts done with the blade angled,

Key addition to the saw. This greatly reduced tear out on finer pieces and makes smaller cuts possible.The screws to hold down the throat plate make it stable, level and easy to raise the blade into the throat plate for the initial set up.
