With a compact design, Companion 20 Multimedia Speaker System from Bose consists of two speakers with enough oomph to handle audio for all of your movies, games, and music on your computer. The speakers feature Bose’s TrueSpace technology to reproduce wide, natural sound and also rely upon an advanced ported design for delivering deep bass notes. The speakers maintain a balanced sound with a built-in active electronic equalization technology.
This speaker system comes with a control pod that features a headphone input jack as well as a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack that allows you to connect an MP3 player. This control pod also allows you to adjust or mute the volume. The system connects to your computer’s 3.5mm input jack and is AC-powered.

I first bought the Bose Companion 2 set. They have a good sound, but I wanted to hear more bass. I also wanted them to fit on my computer desk. Bose also offers bigger computer speaker sets, that feature a subwoofer. The Companion 20’s are great. I love the bass and the overall sound from them, especially for their size. They are taller, sleeker and better looking than the 2’s. I haven’t used the remote puck accessory that comes with them, but think this is a good addition to these quality speakers. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. If they have a fault, it is they can get really loud and the power supply cord to the speakers is too short so the power supply has to rest on the desk.

These speakers are fantastic overall but they have one very minor flaw. If you’re only sending left or right channel audio to the speakers, you’ll still hear a very faint amount of that sound leaking out of the other speaker as well. I called Bose about this and they acknowledged that they do that. Not really a big deal unless you’re using them in a studio setting, and even then you can probably just ignore it. I was just surprised that a set of Bose speakers would do that.

i bought this system 10 days ago. It was easy to hook up and the volume control is easy to work. However i was replacing a desktop system that had stopped working, The speakers sound clear but there was almost no base and what little base came through was not deep and sounded tinny. I have the companion 5 for my home computer and those sound great. The Companion 20 is not even in the same realm of sound. this is the 1st product from Bose i would not recommned.

I’m finally looking for a replacement of these speakers after about a year of disappointing performance from the beginning. The first had to be returned because of a short or some type of malfunction. The ones that I’m replacing have eventually developed a crackling noise and the speakers are essentially blown out. All this after light use with the computer. Looking for another brand for better quality.

I have had these Companion 20 computer speakers for about two years, and the sound is incredibly natural, neutral, and spacious. I never get tired of the sound, and I’m never getting rid of them… unless Bose comes up with series 2 that somehow sound better! Very satisfied, and I highly recommend.

As with other lower marks on this product, I first received great sound as well, but shortly after warranty expired I noticed a short in the volume adjustment. If I can find the sweet spot – Hey great speakers, if not well a 2 rating is a gift.

The best feature of this product is the pod that controls volume — it’s right there in front of you, and you don’t have to reach for anything. And the sound is amazing. I thought I wood need a bass woofer (not available on this system), but sound is just amazingly Bose.

Been putting off speakers for my computer for a moment. Decided it was time to buy a pair of speakers for my desk top, and went with the Bose. Just the right size speakers, along side my NEC monitor. The only draw back on the Companion 20’s is, you can’t reduce the bass level. If you don’t mind the boom quiet nights, overall these speakers have a clean frequency response and sound.
