Banging for the bucks! …& by that I mean, these speakers THUMP much harder than they hit your wallet! That could be a good or a bad thing, depending on your preference, environment & needs. At lower volumes, with interference from traffic through open windows… or whirring box fans in the Summer heat… I find that the Bass response is overkill. Once you are up around 1/3 to 1/2 way on the volume knob… all is well & these Bose Companion 2 Series III speakers sounds wonderful! In fact, I feel like I might have ripped you guys off a little 😛 But again, at lower volumes… they are WAY too Bassy! This could be a problem if you are living in close proximity to others. Im on the eight floor of a 1970s era, concrete bunker of an apartment block… & I fear that turning them up loud enough to achieve a balanced reproduction from many of the albums I listen too …may require a bit of a breach in etiquette. Again, with my fans off & I’m sure, once my windows are closed in the late Fall… all will be well. But if you are looking for something flatter, these are not the Droids you are looking for! Another minor issue, is that there is no obvious indication that the speakers are turned on. No light, no clear view of a painted dot or anything on the volume knob. I tend to accidentally leave them on 😛 These Speakers will be great for A/B comparisons with my Near Field Monitors, as they will more than adequately represent the kind of hyped Bass response my tunes will be subjected to in consumer system playback. That’s why I bout them, ultimately. But also to avoid listening on my Monitors.

These Bose speakers were the recommended choice on B & H’s web site for the Favi projector I recently purchased. With a 25′ RCA cable the speakers could be place at the movie screen in my small theater room. Sound is much improved over use of just the built-in speakers on the projector

I purchased those speakers in the hope that I get a descent sound quality. The sound quality is horrible. Mid tones and vocals are not clear at all and they get dwarfed by the extra loud bass. I regret this purchase and I’d never consider buying any Bose product again.

Great sound! Some of the best sound I have ever heard from computer speakers. I suggest getting a 10′ audio cable– the one that comes with the Bose is small, and will not give the user much of a choice for where the speakers are located. Getting a longer cable lets the user pick the speaker location.

I both these speakers about 1.5 years ago. They just quit working. I bought a new power supply online per the suggestion and still not working. I have had cheap speakers last forever. The sound was great while it lasted.
