I am NOT a fan of Bose audio, because I find Bose to make impressive-sounding equipment that is however very artificial, doctored, coloured …. BUT i was seriously impressed by these multimedia speakers and decided to lay my money on them. I am not disappointed! I do NOT expect hifi from multimedia speakers, but i DO expect sound that is not distorted (clipping) or with cabinet resonance or overly-bright midrange … the bass is a bit bloated ‘Bose style’ for sure, even for their size, but they are most satisfactory at low to mid volume. No better way to listen to ‘background’ music while sitting at my PC.

had these speakers for around 1 1/4 years and would buy them again. too bad there is somekind of much better model in same price range. i’m not what they need to change “” longer audio input cable” would be nice short” .

There is nothing wrong with these speakers, but they arent terribly interesting either. Kind of thin sounding. If you want something with some bottom end, these are not them. There are lots of better options.

I was looking for a great sound to go with my system. Found it. Great clarity at max volume.

Very happy with these Bose speakers. Excellent sound quality and good bass response for computer speakers.

Pros: – all hardware & connectors solidly built – accurate sound — nice definition on solo voice, piano, violin – for $90 — a good choice Cons: – bass is too forward — this will be less apparent if speakers are placed out on an open desktop, rather than on a shelf / in corners – midrange is a bit flat — details of jazz drumming (light cymbals), softer guitar, etc are all there but take a back seat Comments: – Reference is listening to same pieces w my old Austrian-made AKG 701 headphones – Since there’s no speaker EQ, I toned down the bass on both speakers by inserting roled tubes of tissue paper into the bass ports on the back of each speaker. Try it, it works.

I use these for my MP3 player as earbuds are uncomfortable for me to wear. You cant beat these for the price! I haven’t turned these up loud yet nor do I intend to. They are very simple to set up and use, it took me longer to unpack them. I’m very happy.

Not bad speakers. I am pretty picky about sound and previously had a $50 set of Logitech cheapo speakers. I think they performed about the same but the bass on the Logitech was much better, although that was because they included a huge subwoofer. For $99, I am happy with this purchase/replacement and like the Bose name. The sound quality is pretty good, base is decent, and they look pretty good. If you need a cheap pair of decent looking speakers, these might be just right.

Finally broke down and bought these. So glad I did. I had been listening with a tinny sounding soundbar for far too long. These speakers sound great. Full, rich sound. I recommend these 100%. You won’t be disappointed.

Was satisfied the speakers began to randomly begin buzzing / humming. I found slapping the right hand speaker or event left hand speaker stopped it, temporarily. Now I must turn the speaker off then back on … was very annoying this morning during breakfast. Was not going to award a rating, but I will be generous:-)

Easy set up. Good sound on the desktop.

These speakers are just OK, they work, they produce sound. Do not expect true Bose sound from these as they are not the quality of their better products. If you want a pair of speakers that work these will do fine.

I’ve had my Bose Companion speakers for about 5 years and they have served me well. For computer speakers, the sound quality was very good and their size is just right for my desk space. However, one speaker recently went almost dead. Sound controls cannot mitigate the issue and since the speaker case seems to be sealed shut, I can’t go into the speaker to repair what I am confident is a simple fix.My choice is to spend another $100 or switch brands. I was careful with these speakers so I don’t think the speaker connections should have gone bad. At least let me fix them.

Pretty good speakers. Not as good as the more expensive Bose speakers, but plenty good enough for Pandora and YouTube listening. Have connected them to my iPhone and that works nicely too.

I can’t believe how horrible these speakers soound. What a waste of my time. They are going back to the store tomorrow.

You can’t buy a better speaker for this price. The quality of Bose is made really affordable with this product. I bought these to go with my new iMac, and they sound fantastic.
