Jury is out on Brita. We have had a brita pitcher at our vacation home for the last 15 years and thought it was doing a good job. Well that house is on its own well and probably doesn’t need a filter as it tastes pretty good coming out of the faucet. In the last year the replacement Pure Filters for our kenmore fridge tripled in price as the fridge is getting old – but they really don’t make them like they used too. Sears is going out of business because they don’t make anything anymore and jack their prices up. Any how, that is why we tried a Brita pitcher and filters at our Colorado home. I bought the blue as it seemed a better value and supposedly lasts 6 months. Both my wife and I noticed every once in awhile there was an after taste so…. we tried the white filters as the reviews are better. Even so I did find replacement Pure filters for our fridge (at a reasonable price) and have noticed we are both going that direction more than the brita pitcher. The brita pitcher has now become water for the coffee pot in the morning. Not sure I’m going to buy more – but haven’t given up on it completely yet.
