I thought at first this would be a tedious process with this new long lasting filter as water filtered slowly. After about three or four pitchers this changed and the water started flowing. I think they take a little longer to get completely wet.They are also constructed differently. The regular filters have four holes in the bottom where the water comes out. The long lasting filters have four slots on the sides instead of the bottom allowing the water to flow out. If your not aware of this, it seems like the water is bypassing the filter when the streams come out on the side of the discharge tube instead of the four streams coming out in the middle like the regular filter.This filter also fits perfectly just as the regular filter in my old pitcher.
