- Instructions: before use, wash water bottle in top rack of dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water; water bottle filters don’t require soaking; rinse filter under running water for 15 seconds. place new filter into housing and press down firmly until filter is flush with straw; align lid and straw in unlocked position, then rotate straw to lock; replace water filter every 2 months or 40 Gal. No longer do I feel compelled to buy soda – I have unlimited drinks with just a small purchase every 3 months.My one criticism is that I do wish they improved the water filter to be more like lifestraw’s filter – sometimes our municipal sends out some unsafe water so we do always keep plastic water bottles on hand just in case because Brita is unable to filter that heavily.
