- Instructions: before use, wash water bottle in top rack of dishwasher or by hand with warm soapy water; water bottle filters don’t require soaking; rinse filter under running water for 15 seconds. place new filter into housing and press down firmly until filter is flush with straw; align lid and straw in unlocked position, then rotate straw to lock; replace water filter every 2 months or 40 Gal. If you run hard water through a Brita, the filtered water will be softer than it was, as it does remove SOME of the calcium and magnesium in the water. But it by no means takes all the calcium and magnesium out. Some people will use Brita water for Betta fish, which tends to work out pretty well.

Water bottle is fair, but would probably not repurchase. It is difficult to suck water through straw, and difficult to clean. The filter material often comes through the straw as well even well before it is supposed to be time to replace it. If you tilt it sideways at all, it leaks.

I have had this bottle for over a year now and have had zero issues. I use mine literally everyday too. It is the perfect size to carry with you everywhere, perfect for a college student. I had the original bottle and this version has lots of improvements. I have had no issues with the seal, the first edition would leak a tad. I love the edition of the cap and the new flexible handle is a lot more comfortable.

I love these bottles so much that every time I travel with them I lose them. I always hand carry them and inevitably sit it down somewhere in the terminal etc. Then I am sad until I purchase another one. I was walking my neighborhood for exercise some tile ago and my Brita bottle was great. I usually finish all the water before I finish my walk so I think I need a larger bottle. This one is great, holds a good amount of water which always tastes fresh. All you do is remove the used filter (discard properly) and put in the new one after rinsing first. Enjoy!
