The critical issue with all reverse osmosis membrane filters relates to the air hole typically located in the fawcett. It is connected, by a very small diameter tube to the major drain pipe for the sink. If the drain hole in that major drain pipe is either plugged or restricted, water will be discharged from the air hole. This is a typical problem. The only remedy is to remove that plug/restriction in that major drain pipe. NOTE: Our Brita system has been installed for five years. Once we learned about this required maintenance we have been very satisfied with it.

This is a good system, pretty easy to replace filters. However, I do not recommend the system for new buyers, since it appears to have been discontinued by the manufacturer. I don’t know how much longer the replacement filters will be available.

We have an under-the-sink Brita water filtration system in our main house and guest cottage. It works great and these filters are easy to replace after 6 mos or a year. Be sure to shut off the water and have a pan under the sink to catch water overflow.

EXCELLENT supply of the replacement filter and RO cartridges, and replacing the cartridges was relatively simple, however placing the system back in functional operation was NOT simple. I had to contact Protect / mfg for instructions that were not easy to implement; finally, I got it right, and we are happy with the ultimate results.
