This was my first plumbing adventure…it went..just okay (see below). I don’t really think the water tastes much different, but whatever.Installation: took me about 90 minutes to get it set up and not leaking. The faucet (sold separately) had the connector I needed to T my cold water line. I have standard 1/2″ cold water tubing. That was all straight forward. The 3/8″ tubing they give you is pretty short, so be mindful of where you choose to mount it. (I never got my mount very secure either, but oh well)The John Guest push to connect fittings SUCK and it took multiple tries before they didn’t leak. The trick is that you’ll feel like you made the connection, and then you still need to push more. Seriously, try it out before you do the install. I kept just finding the leak, removing the tube (push the outer circle in while pulling tubing out) and trying again. Finally worked! Good luck.

Had to adapt from 3/8 pipe for the Brit’s to the 1/4 pipe that I had already

A good value, and very easy installation. My only “complaint” is that after installation the water looks “cloudy”, even after a long initial purge. I googled this phenomenon and I guess a lot of filters have the same effect. It is just very tiny air bubbles entrained in the water by the combination of cold water having pressure released as it goes through fine filter mesh. It gradually clears from the bottom of the cup upward as the air dissipates. The water is then perfectly clear. It is not really a “problem” except that it is unnerving to drink cloudy water.

This is a functional easily installed water filter. The housing to connect plumbing lines is also the mounting bracket making it a compact installation. Mount it as high as possible, the elongated filter housing can make replacing the filter a little tricky. I found it makes a great primary ice maker filter or refrigerator/freezer filter.A small noticeable drop in water pressure and flow made me keep it from installing it under sink. Use a fair amount of pressure when connecting the push to fit connections to avoid any leaking.

Not real tough to install if you have or can get the proper connections for your use. I had trouble finding a HD employee that knew enough to assist me in finding the proper connections for my application.
