This replaced my “regular” whole house filter made by a major manufacturer. This one is almost identical in appearance and seems to be a twin – made in the same factory, perhaps?I put this in place on June 21 and it seemed to work as well as the previous brand; there was no noticeable change in water color, clarity or turbidity (particulates suspended in the water) and there was no appreciable drop in water pressure which is always a concern when using a whole house filter on a well system. With that said, however, it is now July 5 and I am replacing this filter because the water pressure has dropped so significantly that I knew it was the filter. Upon removing it from the filter body, I found that it was no more ‘gunked up’ then my regular filter brand but it seemed to have trapped more sediment because the water pressure drop was so drastic. Now, that may be a sign of more sediment in the well than normal- it’s been dryer than normal here in the Mid-Atlantic states. Some might also think “Wow! It got more than your old filter brand” but this is a sediment filter and is for PRE-filtering, meaning that the water will pass through another filter and if the water pressure drops that much in less than a month, I’d be replacing filters on a 3 week basis. I normally get about 30 to 45 days out of my regular brand. I may buy this filter brand again but I’ll probably stick with my usual brand.p.s. none of my opinions are “scientific” (no lab testing or instruments used to test water pressure, etc) but just anecdotal based on my observations.

Can’t get the female plastic filter to make brass fittings to stop leaking, with lots of Teflon tape . Too early to know if the filter is doing it’s job.

Good quality two-phase whole house water filter cartridge. Has both fiber element and carbon wrap to trap particles as small as 5 microns and the remove carbon, rust, and sediment. Fits perfectly in most all single element whole home water filter systems. Although they say it should be replaced every 3 months, I base my replacements on actual water consumption taken from my water bill rather than an arbitrary time on the calendar. Be sure to rinse the filter to insure that any carbon dust is washed away prior to installation.

Just installed it- can’t tell a difference in the water quality compared to the cheaper filter, but it LOOKS like it should be better.
