Compact and fully-featured, the HL-L2390DW All-In-One Monochrome Laser Printer from Brother will find itself welcome in both the home or small offices. An all-in-one design makes it a great choice for space-conscious offices as it fits printing, scanning, and copying within a single unit. Also, the printing capabilities are very good with a max resolution of 2400 x 600 dpi and print speeds of up to 32 ppm. The printer can also work with documents up to 8.5 x 14″ in size using the 250-sheet input tray or one-sheet manual feed slot.
Scanning and copying is made possible through the inclusion of an 8.5 x 11.7″ flatbed. Also, an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi ensures that scans are detailed and sharp. For operation, the HL-L2390DW has a two-line monochrome LCD for checking current status and settings. Additionally, it features Wi-Fi connectivity, alongside standard USB 2.0, for completely wireless operation and support for direct printing from mobile devices.

I’ve always used HP printers. I still use my HP LaserJet 4P (1992 new) and HP Deskjet F4580 (2015 used) but a new printer was long overdue. Brother has been at the top of my list for several years and when I found the HL-L2390DW I knew that it was time. I bought two of them. One for me and one for the wife. Yes we each have our own setups!

This is mostly a good printer for home office use, quality is good for my needs, speed is good, scanning is good for documents. I have had several paper jams when using any paper out of the ordinary though. For instance, printing on business cards was impossible.

So far it works as I had hoped and anticipated. I had had a simple laser printer of Brother and I needed greater versatility in a machine. The Brother laser printer was excellent so I went with the same company. A wise decision. Thank you Brother.

If you don’t print very much, or that often, this laser printer/copier/scanner is the perfect fit for your home.

Printer goes to sleep too quickly and loses its wireless address too easily.

So far, the printer worked fine. However, I was not able to update the software. The update notice requires me to log in with a password. I do not have a password and the notice does not allow me to create one.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Packaging: Printer arrived packed well in a very big box. Instruction manual was easy to find and seemed simple enough. Set-up: Assembling the product was pretty easy…I like that there aren`t that many wires in the back to juggle and connect. But setting up the connection to wifi was a little difficult. The password didn`t seem to be working and I had to read through the instructions several times and make many attempts to get it to finally work. Design: This printer looks high-quality and professional. It`s a decent size, not too large or small and looks nice in my home office. Printing: Not sure if there is an issue with the connection/wifi on my end but when I press Print it takes a very long time for the printer to actually start printing. I thought, in fact, that it was not working but then after several minutes as I was trying to figure out what went wrong, the printer started “whirring” suddenly, and the pages came right out. I tried this several times over a few days and it did the same thing. It does seem that this problem is only with the initial printing job on a particular day. Almost seems like it needs a long time to “wake up” once it has been dormant. Once the first job completes and you try to do a second job, the printing then starts immediately. Not quite sure why this happens. Printing quality: Once the pages actually do start printing, they come out fast and the words come out clear, clean and crisp. Love the double-sided option as that will save on paper. Copy/Scan: These are great features and work well. Just popped a page in to copy, pressed a button and it came right out. Regular paper jobs work great, photos come out just ok. Comparisons: This product is a better product, in my opinion, than previous printers I have owned just for the fact that I do not have to buy tons of ink. I was constantly buying ink cartridges before and I`m hoping that this will eliminate that need. So far so good. I also like how modern it looks and that there aren`t so many wires sticking out. The copy and scan feature is great. My only dislike is that my old printer started the printing job a lot faster for some reason. Improvements: I would love it if the wifi/connection set up was much easier and if the printer started printing jobs faster. Also if photos scanned a little more clearly. Overall: Even though there a few little glitches, it is still a nice quality printer that does it`s job. I`d say that I am somewhere between very and fairly satisfied with this product.

So far so good. I just purchased it 2 months ago. I like the fact that it has toner cartridge instead of the individual ink cartridges that dry out even when the printer is never used.

I have used a Brother monochrome laser printer for 17+ years for most non-photographic printing duties. When my original printer got a little tired after all those years, I replaced it with the current model, and I am still very pleased with the results. For day-to-day printing, I don’t need an expensive, over-the-top model, so this basic laser printer fits the bill. It has some useful features like business card and 2-sided copying, which are things I didn’t think I would use, but already have. My only criticism is that the menu interface is a little arcane, and could use a little simplification, which I imagine is the case on higher end models in the Brother line. This isn’t a big enough issue to take away a star, however, especially in the light of a very low purchase price and cost to use.

I like the printer/scanner and it works perfectly. I was disappointed that the advertising did not clearly state there is no paper feed for inserting multiple pages for scan or print.

For a home office, this is the optimum machine that prints and scans documents to connect with your computer.
